stability is subjective. for me, 1hour prime stable should be suffice. if d overclocked setup not givin u any sign of instability (even though it fails p95) & u r ok with that, by all mean stick to it. imc (cpu nb) & ram can be further improved. like what i've mentioned, imc can be @ 2600MHz at least, ram wise, it depends, but thuban has no problem hittin 2000~2133MHz if d ram in use is capable. smile.gif

ripjaws x i supposed? try ram @ lowest divided available & 1.5v vdimm? extreme low vidimm not really d cup of tea for AMD imo. smile.gif

from what i know, 945 aint really a good clocker. if 3.75ghz is prime stable (with d volt shown) consider yaself quite lucky already. try ram @ 1T instead coz ddr3 not meant for 2t unless it's @ very2 high frequency. smile.gif

nothing fantastic due to voltage but nonetheless made it to 5Ghz on 8 cores... wink.gif

Wow! On air? what is the voltage? How's the temp? prime95 stable?
on h100 bro. voltage is ugly, temp is lagi worse. i'm dead sure it cant be prime stable, not board issue, more of being an average chip. smile.gif

QUOTE(vaizard @ Jun 11 2013, 04:08 AM)
hello guys..im planning to oc my cpu..this is my very 1st attempt to do oc..my spec is as below..

mobo: gigabyte ma 785gt ud3h (4phase)
cpu : phenom ii x6 1055T
ram : 4gb team elite ddr3 1333
cooler : cm hyper 212+
os : win 7 32 bit

so im planning to oc to 3.4ghz..im just wondering with my spec as above am i able to achieve it.?TQIA
*
i believe u can, but at d expense of having lower ram freq & mebe imc freq. since it's a locked chip u can only play with htt oc. if u have no plan to use lower cpu multi then htt should be @ 243, with 1600 ram divider that will take ya ram near to 2000MHz, something i think might be a bit challengin for d board & d ram. i mite be wrong thou. smile.gif

imc (integrated mem ctrler) is referring to cpu nb (north bridge) or some just call it nb. d multiplier should be adjustable in bios if ya board is oc ready. smile.gif

htt = front size bus (fsb) of old, ppl used to call it fsb last time. biggrin.gif

u need to use lower ram divider to make ya ram runnin @ 1600MHz because d pair might not be able to handle 2000MHz if u oc the htt (fsb), since that's d only way to oc a 1055t which doesn't come with unlocked CPU multiplier. wink.gif

hey guys , any comments on my PC ? @.@

what kinda commend ur lookin for sir? spec wise quite ok but if u wanna play more with d fx that's not really d best board out there. 7oo series chipset is kinda old & u can better utilize d chip with 900 series chipset based board. smile.gif

i'd say evo is suffice for such clock PROVIDED ya chip is capable of reachin d goal. u need better cooler like those 240mm AIO instead of 120mm, & definitely better pair of ram. no doubt ROG offers better mileage (ram especially IMHO) but i'd rather use d moolah saved to get a better cooler + ram. low~mid range KHX suck big time (again IMHO only). i'd rather go for GSkill or mushkin. PD is meant to run at least DDR3 2133 & i doubt ya khx can offer such mileage. smile.gif

to answer ya question d 5GHz is not totally stable, & definitely not healthy for 24/7. I'd say 4.6~4.8GHz for daily use is possible if ya chip is somehow above average & ur able to keep d chip & vrm cooled. wink.gif

Can post some x264hd benchmark? curious to see if x264 really can utilize the 8 cores.
ima still stuck on my 1055t lol doh.gif if the number from you are great, i prolly will hoot 8350 sweat.gif
*
will try that out bro, mebe over d w.end. smile.gif

QUOTE(Wan.Him @ Jun 27 2013, 08:07 PM)
hmm so to overclock i need better ram and cooler ? damn must invest lot of money btw, and with my cooler and ram cant go as far as 4.8GHZ ?
*
u can oc d chip only without changin d ram, but that for me defeat d purpose of havin flagship board like chvz. fx8350 + chvz coupled with khx runnin ddr3 1600 or ddr3 1866 (consider yaself lucky if it can run @ that freq) is imba. i'd rather get 8320 + 990x evo r2.0 + gskill 2133 + h100 which imo is more balanced setup. smile.gif

Guys,

Any estimation when AMD will release new chipset? 9xx series seems to be around for a while now. Want to upgrade my rig, but donno to wait for a new chipset or just buy 9xx series.
*
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6201/amd-det...er-architecture

not so sure AMD will keep d aging 990FX chipset, but if it means performance boost on cpu & i/o performance, by all mean just do it. smile.gif

So far most HyperX i tested sucks in oc.. so skip it, better go for gskill..

agreed with master cloudwan, i wont go for MSI GD65 as well, ASUS M5A97 PRO/EVO would be a better choice, at least for me. smile.gif

i thought master khoo want to suggest GD80.. my bad then.. indeed EVO is a good OC mobo for budget.
dah dah... me no master ok... me mister oni... laugh.gif

budget wise 970 evo/pro should be cheaper ma. if budget not a concern can consider GD80/990X EVO. smile.gif

better oc mileage (ram, cpu-nb & cpu), less volt needed, better power consumption. if ur not super bad luck (in gettin a lemon chip), pile driver >>> bulldozer anytime... smile.gif

6350 with MSI 970A-G43
good go ?
if budget is limited, is value ram okay for the build?
didn't plan to get GC that soon, might use my old 9800GT .
how many watt PSU I should get?
am I asking too much? Hahaha
Thanks in advance anyway ! biggrin.gif
*
as much as i love msi, i'd still go for ASUS for AMD at least. have u checked d price of ASUS 970 series?

as for PSU go for more established brand if possible. if ur not gettin super high end GC 520~620watter should be more than enough. PSU & mobo are 2 important component for stable setup so i wont mind spending a 'lil more even if budget is tight. ram u can opt for any value ram... if u have d time to go hunt shop by shop mebe can target kingston kvr... if luck is with u mebe u can grab a pair with hynix chipset? tongue.gif

Perghhh!!!! FX9590 this monster can do what? Awesome clocking or cooking? Anyone from our gang have this beast? Care to share the screen shot?
*
nobody in their right mind will buy d monster unless they are die hard fans. @ USD$5xx iirc, it's way off budget for a live long supporter like me. AMD had long lost d battle in enthusiast platform, but in budget platform, FM2 is worthy of attentions. Awesome APU aside, these cili padi (in term of MHz) are quite fun to play with, kinda like duron of old times. with FM2+ chips only available next year, one can grab a FM2+ board (available very soon) plus a richland chip to play with... brows.gif

Owh ok...now you guys using what setup on daily basis? Sure ohsem setup one.

The new feature processor, does it have option to unlock like last time?

how good was FM2 with air setup?

Sorry for asking to much... Noob sia~ sad.gif
*
fm2 as main rig, fm1 as wifey rig, not so sure u can call it awesome bro... sweat.gif

all d k chips (5800k, 6800k etc...) have unlocked multi, so no worry bout that. wink.gif

air coolin as in non stock cooler rite? u can have at least 4.5GHz for decent air coolers on 6800k, that i can assure u... my so so CM Seidon 120M can bench @ 5GHz with some helps of my bedroom's aircond @ 24'C. tongue.gif

pls come back bro, it's been very2 quite here for quite sometimes liao. icon_question.gif
