disable c&q, disable turbo core, if there's core leveling option in bios, try to put all cores instead of auto.

no one liao i guess bro, playin with pi usually spells moneh (coz tight timing modules not cheap & there's no longer lucky draw in kvr).
samsung, hynix can do high freq with lax timing (something AMD might not be able to take advantage of), if ur aiming tight timing some crucial can do 2133 @ 9-9-9. hope this helps bro, i've been out of d business for quite sometimes liao. price wise u mite wanna check whether crucial is available in garage. sale. QUOTE tak sempat nk tweak... ![]() ![]() 960t unlocked? voltage is a 'lil bit on high side bro. from what i remember (short spell with 960t) u aint need that kind voltage for such clock. avoid usin half multi. jack up d ram to 1866 with laxer timing mebe? QUOTE guys any opinion FX-4300 VS FX-6350 ? , mostly for Gaming price diff not huge, more cores might spells higher temp but more is always better if ya cooling can cope with d heat. QUOTE(8tvt @ Jun 24 2014, 07:53 PM) still play2 with d voltage.. the calibration makes it sky high.. i want to make the voltage flexible with the speed... cnq + c1e enabled? try fixed voltage setup 1st, see what d lowest voltage stable for d oc'ed setup. then try usin vid + offset for cnq setup. iirc asus not really that good in cnq setup. iirc my fm2 board d vid keep changin eventhou i've already fixed it in bios. not so sure on am3 as it's been a while since i last owned one. not good ram though.. no harm tryin for d ram bro, 9-10-9 or 9-11-11 for 1866 is possible if d chippies are decent one. |

QUOTE(8tvt @ Jun 25 2014, 07:24 PM) lol i can't find cnq.. iirc, LLC just controls d fluctuation of voltage & doesnt really involved in voltage control (for cnq setup, ie when lower clock vcore decreases & vice versa). vid + offset is d only way to go (with c1e enabled) if i'm not mistaken, but d thing is (like what i mentioned) asus is not really that straight forward in such setup (again based on my fm2 board experience), u can fix d offset but d vid kinda like changes every time u start d system. i'm playing with the LLC, if fixed voltage, when speed come to load it require more n not stable... the calibration works well just i need to lower down the initial voltage for lower speed operation.. so i got optimum setup.. so far the voltage is stable no vdroop issue like before.. just that at first attempt i set at higher base voltage so it's freely boost the voltage.. the weird thing is the option supposedly in percentage.. but i have only enabled/disabled option that may cause to jump up to 100% max that's the reason the temp is so high.. asrock is better in this department but oc/tweakability/software wise we all know whose d clear winner. if u cant get the vid + offset part working mebe u can check with Juan Chong, mebe he can help a 'lil. is ya cpu & nb voltage in offset mode bro? ya ai tweaker page should be like this rite?
yellow = offset value aka increment on top of vid during load red = vid aka fixed, should be ya idle voltage if i'm not mistaken for LLC i will always use d one give me less fluctuation during load, be it vcore or cpunb voltage (less critical imo) btw cnq, c1e can be found here: This post has been edited by ah_khoo: Jun 26 2014, 10:31 AM |

QUOTE(8tvt @ Jun 26 2014, 11:17 AM) i cannot recall having that offset setting.. just the above LLC only... yas is m5a97 rev 1 rite? should have. bios already updated to d latest one? even d cnq option not avail... maybe this board too simplified.. did a quick review on m5a97 evo b4, should be quite near to m5a97 vanila. http://forums.vr-zone.com/hardware-depot/1...l-board-bd.html This post has been edited by ah_khoo: Jun 26 2014, 11:25 AM |

QUOTE(8tvt @ Jun 26 2014, 05:07 PM) lol now i got that offset but still not nice ler.. can't set the initial voltage.. sigh, that's d thing with most asus AMD boards. i guess no one make enuf noise to d support team. but other than this, asus is d most solid brand when it comes to AMD mainboards. |

nicely done bro, unlocked core(s) quality varies from chip to chip, as long as they serve ya purpose will do.

QUOTE(PowerSlide @ Jul 1 2014, 11:47 AM) well time to retire this, been faithful to me for 4 or 5 years and not a single time it failed me core unlockin is fun bro, still have one with me sittin on top of biostar 790gx ddr3 board.... collectin dust...lack of time & resources else i'd happily build a simple system with it. QUOTE(8tvt @ Jul 1 2014, 12:19 PM) comparin clock to clock thuban still better than bd/pd so there's no need to move over to newer architecture unless u wanna try better MHz/ram oc. |

QUOTE(chaics85 @ Jul 7 2014, 12:58 AM) guys.. i'm new to overclocking. only know how to up the cpu voltage and multiplier. Got a phenom II 555 unlock to B55 at 3.8ghz stable at 1.38v. However, i would like to go for 4.0ghz for daily usage, tried 1.43v, played games for few minutes, bsod. 3.8Ghz w/ 1.38v considered quite ok already (for an unlocked x4 b55). i remember back then i managed to 3dm11 @ 4GHz but with tonnes of vcore, ~1.5 or slightly more. i'd say go with 3.8GHz for 24/7 with nb & ram tweaked a 'lil. try nb @ 2.5~2.6GHz, ram really depends. for phenom 2 iirc u can go up to 1900MHz ish, again depends on how good ya module is. for 24/7 i wont go for > 1.45v for vcore, > 1.4v for cpu-nb voltage. vdimm wise u wont really wanna run > 1.7v for such setup. i'm not familiar with cpu-nb ratio, dram timing, nb voltage, dram voltage and so on, so there are all on auto ATM.. any sifus here can help me achieve 4.0ghz? thanks.. heres a few screenshot of my bios current setting.. Specs as of my siggy for ya reference: (done with non 900 serie boards thou) http://forums.vr-zone.com/motherboards-cpu...e-278-only.html http://forums.vr-zone.com/singapore-market...months-old.html This post has been edited by ah_khoo: Jul 7 2014, 02:56 PM |

QUOTE(pspslim007 @ Jul 7 2014, 05:01 PM) Hi , does anyone know how to update Bios ? i mean whats the perk of updating it ? and btw i am using a cheap Asus Mobo its less than RM200 . Please advice if it aint broke, dont fix it. updatin of bios can be done via 2 ways usually, windows (tools needed) or in bios (u just need to dl d bin file & save it to ya hdd/usb thumb drive) & go to d bios flashin option.
