If I were you, and I didn't want to negotiate, I'd just come to Singapore a week or two earlier, set myself up and then go home well before raya, and come back to SG on the 30th.

I just opened a citibank account in malaysia last week.. there are no charges except for the exchange difference.. the rate i got was 2.430 instead of a 2.45x?

lost about rm20+ per rm2450.. less than 1%, i think its ok unless you are making a very huge xfer. I know maybank charges SGD15 per xfer but dont know about their rates.
*
Citibank charges a SGD10 service fee for transfer from citibank sg to citibank m'sia.

that is the international rate, means its the rate between buying and selling.
The rate that we see is the buying rate which is normally lower.

The highest rate i get normally is from wawasan, then follow by the money changer i always change in JB which is normally 0.001-0.003 lower than wawasan

and you 'live like king' in JB. no one can beat you in term of wealth in JB. ppl like us need to save for a month just to change sgd$100.

Lot 1 @ CCK got 1 money changer give very good rates, always see people queuing up to change money. alaskanbunny should know this.
