as long you can purchase power adapter for USB3.0 specification then you're fine. Doesn't really need to be ASUS adapter. Till now, all in the market is just USB2.0 adapter.

speaking of chargers...

i know our charger set is in 2 parts...

#1 is the 3 pin plug with a hole for the usb cable.

#2 is the cable -- one end is usb and goes into #1 and the other end goes to the tablet/ dock.

so... when we say buy the charger, it means #1 only, right? it basically must have the usb3 hole, right?

what about the cable (#2)?

Yes. U need to buy the SAME cable, ie. buy from ASUS or a compatible one.

mydragon- my adapter does not work but my cable works.
try searching the compatible or third party but no shops sells it.

If u guys can find it, let me know. Because none of the tablet have the same usb cable port (the one that goes to the tablet). For adapter you can find lots of third party usb adapter but also none of its have the compatible voltage for our transformer.

Maybe i don't search enough for it but i have try digital mall, jln imbi and alam sentral and no one can provide me with the things i want. All i have to do is to wait for Asus to call me and gave me the new one. And have to wait 3-4 weeks for that. That's why i'm searching for other alternative or anyone that live near shah alam that can let me borrow 1-2 hours to charge my tablet. will belanja coffee la for sure.

U can charge yr transformer via the PC / notebook USB.

However, the tablet must not be used at all, ie. the screen is off.

why my charger dun charge

My dock repaired already. Collecting it tmrw. Thought they said a few weeks. Hope they really fix the issue. Will share tomorrow. Am I the only one sent for repair related to the battery drain issue? Anyone else?

Sent mine last month.. My dock's battery drain until cant charge at all.. Now no more battery drain issue

anyone recently do an exchange/fix with asus centre for light bleed and/or dead pixel issue? I'm thinking of sending mine in but scared take too long..cant live without my transformer

Yup.. someone have told me about that earlier..
I off wifi at my laptop and tablet, switch off the tablet and charge it..
For 1 whole night it only will charge about 20%, i charge then gave a break about 3 hours then charge again..
2 days straight i charge my tablet and this morning its 100% already..

Added on September 9, 2011, 10:41 ami have light bleed also. I have ask Asus service center about the light bleed before also as my tablet charger cannot works the other day as if you can see my post earlier. They said can "can repair it under warranty but it takes 2-3 weeks". So, i don't sent my tablet as i also cannot live without my transformer eventhough i have to charge it for 2 days. hehehe

PC USB charging is very slow cause it only able to pump 500mA where it's charger pumps 2100mA that's 4x faster process. I've tried 1000mA in which it takes about 10 minutes to charge one percent.

Those who suffer light bleed & shy speaker should seek replacement or RMA it. It might not beat iPad2 speaker loudness but you enjoy stereo effect.

Btw Eee pad slider has release, I found this transformer is way better. What's your take?

slider cannot detach, detachable better...

those dual head usb cable used for some ext hdd can go up to 1000mA too...

hopefully next batch of transformer like the TF101G or slider comes with better charger, it will be 100% compatible to ours since the docking port will be standard among TF models

i wont blame Asus, they just picked the wrong OEM to manufacture their chargers - BAO HUI SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CO. LTD. from China.

light bleed and shy speaker when rma do they replace 1 to 1 new or you get a recon replacement or they try to fix your transformer? i have shy speaker but am satisfied with the screen, if send in might end up with more issues .......hmm

Either they replace or fix it. At the moment, usually replace.
