Compare outgoing camry and new camry
1) New Camry highest spec rm10k more exp
2) New Camry removed the most important feature that even Altis 1.8/2.0 has, VSC!

Now, please tell me how to justify buying this crap?

How to justify? From 2.4v to 2.5v. From 2 airbags to 4 airbags , from vvti to dual vvti and from 5 speed to 6 speed....

But then how to justify 2.0 still 4 gears? what generation is this now?
maybe they wanna be like Altis, after 1 yr launch 9th gen, come out with 7 gears???

Majority buyers book for 2.5v

perhaps, perhaps toyota took the usage stats of the older camrys
and found that VSC activation was very low in the cars that had it
so decided to remove it...

similarly with the airbags...

maybe they look at it purely from a business point of view, if the feature is hardly activated, might as well ship without it. its still the buyers decision after all. but most camry buyer only tekan accel and brake only, nvr use other feature perhaps.

not business point of view, suck $$ point of view more like it

u pay so much already, if not used/activated, doesnt mean can remove the feature. like that reduce the price also lor.
but as previous explanation , other features improved... also yen appreciation. so choice throw back to the buyers

it is very irritating though as a normal human for another human keeping bashing others for whatever god knows reasons. the car he bought is fine nothing wrong with it. perhaps it is among the greatest looking car we have here in malaysia in the D segment

and camry is just a great car as well. so nothing is wrong with the cars.

surely something is wrong with person. with such (wrong) dedications keeping coming here and there for no reason but bashing this and that, people cant help but thinking whats wrong with this guy. perhaps he is just sour grape? i dont know. its a possibility for sure.

I second your opinions, these KIA (killed-in-accident) fan boys are both irritating and annoying.

If their K5 are so great, it needs no bashing on the new camry in the camry thread lol. It's more than sour grape, it's more like they are having the inferior complex issue. They bought a korean car and feel being looked down upon, so they have to keep remind everyone that they got an awesome deal.

Just wait for the 2013 accord release, these K5 fan boys will come back again in the honda thread.

But I am more interested to see their reactions after 3-4 years...... hahahhaaha

My Camry 2.4 just smoked off by a Peugeot 308 turbo.

Anyway, my friend told me, his friend (car seller) is selling the new Camry 2.5 for only RM155,000. He said do not buy from UMW. I said that is totally boasting, else who do you buy from? AP one isn't that cheap too. Any one can identify this?

Exactly. What is his point actually? He probably has never driven fast on other cars before. I have hit 200kmph in my 2003 Vios on a number of occasions (although i wouldnt recommend it as the car is quite light). But even till the end, i often hit 180kmph. So if a 1.5L car, can hit 180-200kmph, i dont see whats the big deal in a 2.5L Camry hitting 215kmph? Im quite sure it can go faster. Ive pushed my 2.0L Optima to 220kmph but i guess its pointless to risk your life and others doing that.

Are you mad? Push the Milo tin can Vios to 200km/hr? When I had that car, going 160km/hr also my balls shrink already, you can still push it to 200km/hr. If you hit an object or something, the car will fly liao! That time whatever TRC, ABS, EBD, ABC, VSC, TCT, DVD etc also cannot save you man, LOL!

I am just being descriptive.
