I don't know about the prices, but I say that its impossible to get a nice distortion out of the MD-2 and that the MT-2 is not flexible and a little artificial, but sounds pretty good.

Of course, it's been months since I've tried either, and I was very noobish when I did... doh.gif

My recommendation, though - get and amp with decent distortion, and crank it with a booster. (I just checked your rig. Doesn't the Cube 30 have decent distortion already?)

how about a fender amp or marshall amp.....but fender amp sounds soft but powerful(the boost)....i love the fender so much...but never ask for the price....

if it's not powerful enough, get an overdrive pedal to add more gain to it, not get a new distortion altogether.

When you're setting the gain on your amp, the best to tip to keep in mind is that "you always need less gain than you think you need,". Go easy with the gain and if you think you're lacking distortion, whack your strings harder, you'ill be surprised how musical your guitar and amp could sound. thumbup.gif

definitely. and even for metal, more gain isn't necessarily better, in contrary to the general assumption.

Exactly, worse if they're using Boss distortion pedals (*Ahem* Metal Zone), ear-piercing and fizzy. rclxub.gif

Yup, more gain also means less clarity and more compression.
If you substitute the gain with volume, you'ill get a bigger sound with clarity to cut through the band. thumbup.gif What sounds good in the bedroom doesn't necessary sound the same live. smile.gif

i ask my teacher to let me test out the bad monkey today....unfortunately a 'sold' tag there and no more stock....

after listen to the demo sound..personally felt that the vad monkay would be better...

You could. Of course, you would need to turn your volume control up slightly so you're still loud enough. Just use your ears, play with the controls, find something you like and stick with it.
