I'm in the market for a wah pedal...something that can give me the psychedelic/blusey Hendrix sorta sound, and is also suitable for funk. The only one I've seen for sale locally is the Ibanez WD-7 Weeping Demon. Anyone can tell me if it's any good?

Pedals below Rm150

Brand: Behringer OVERDRIVE/DISTORTION OD100
Price: Rm120
Good for: Rock/Metal guitarist

Pedals below Rm400

Brand: Boss OD-3 (OverDrive)
Price: Rm300
Good for: Rock/Metal guitarist

Pedals above Rm400

Hendrix sound??? I'm not sure if the WD-7 could give you that classic sound but you won't go wrong with Dunlop's Original Crybaby or the 535Q. thumbup.gif

Yeah, that's sort of what I figured. sad.gif

I've tried the Crybaby before, but didn't like it. Sweep range too limited, not enough bite.

Does anyone know anything about the Jacques Trinity Wah or the RMC Wah series? I've heard good things about them.

RMC have good reviews... and so does the Trinity.. that's all I know.

Basics for wah :
A limited sweep range is suitable for funk --> you can get this tchk-tchk-wah sound easily
A longer sweep range, with wider frequency range is harder to control for riffs, but they provide more flexibility for shredder solos.

Myself I found hapiness in the Teh21 Killer Wail smile.gif But I didn't try the RMC or Jacques Trinity Wah.

Yeah... but that's not a wah pedal!!! Not sure if that's what he's looking at because it's kinda hard & limited for live use.

Though, I would love to try it one day. tongue.gif Looks bloody funky & addictive! tongue.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

More sweep??? Tell him to remove the rubber blocker or something like that underneath the pedal...

Zakk Wylde's tip, don't have a Crybaby to play with so I'm not sure about this. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

the dunlop are really old-fashionned, they quickly get dust in the mechanism, and the condensator spoils after a while... blrrr...

If you want Hendrix's funk sound.... then you HAVE to get the JH-1 Hendrix wah, with a splash of a Fuzz-face. There's really no subsitute for that.

The wah you tried is probably the cheapest in the range., which is what I'm using also, the GCB-95.

user posted image

But if you want a Jimi wah with even more Oomph.... you absolutely MUST get the ZW-45, Zakk Wylde Signature Wah

I don't think I can get that Wah yet, at least not until Xmas.....My phone is acting weird and will have to get a new one first.

Or I could ask for a Zakk Wylde pedal board set for Xmas..... YUM!

Thanks for the tips, guys. thumbup.gif

Blacktrix is right - the Dunlop Wah I tried was the GCB-95, the cheap one. No wonder I was disappointed.

Now, I don't suppose there's a KL dealer around that has a whole selection that I could try...?

Bentley's has alot of the Dunlop Wah's there.
But don't expect them to let you test all of them.
Unless you plomp down a credit card first....No service man.
