if im not mistaken D3 and D5 have both DAC + Amp? im totally new in this...  rclxub.gif
*
D series: Consumer series
E series: Audiophile series

D3: DAC only. (Input: Coaxial/Optical; Output: Analog via RCA)

D5: DAC and a relatively low-powered@quality amp; though in a way this is already an entry lvl sound card since it has a mic-in as well. Reportedly to be more or less the same as regular on-board. (Input: USB, mic; Output: 3.5mm headphone-out & line-out, coaxial)

E10: DAC/AMP combo. (Input: USB; Output: 3.5mm headphone-out & line-out, coaxial)
The thing that *you should buy if SQ is your main concern. brows.gif

frankly, since you have no amp right now, get TTD. a good 24/96 dac with a very nice tube amp. then next time when you get your amp back, you can use TTD as a DAC and pre-amp.

but otherwise, get a basic DAC from go-vibe / hippo / ordanance / fiio. they will be an improvement over your soundcard and later on then upgrade to a desktop DAC like stageDAC / DACmagic / NFB series from Audio Gd.

Not at all. If portability is a concern with your iPad, the FiiO E7 is the way to go. nod.gif

PC > USB > FiiO E7 > AD500
iPad > FiiO L3 or L9 LOD > FiiO E7 > AD500

i think i'll stick with E10, since it's the latest product and i heard many good reviews abt it.

im jz afraid it will distort the soundstage capability of my AD500. any ideas, apart from significant boost to the Bass, is there any drawbacks plugging AD500 into E10?

its hard for me to say "better", how much do you got in hands? brows.gif

tested the goVibe dac and own a t-muso (OScon caps)

i could say, i prefer the goVibe dac by a slight margin,
but not soo sure since i just test the goVibe for a few minutes, couldnt say that for sure laugh.gif
