how about laptop -> E10 -> E6, does this mean double amping? or it's just use E10 as DAC, and amp using E6? hmm.gif

so basically you couldnt make any direct line out from laptop without using external DAC?

Laptop --> E10 headphone out --> E6 = double amp

Laptop --> E10 line out --> E6 = Not Double amp.

most laptop don't have line out.

I've tested the D10 and I wasn't impressed by it at all, compared to the iBasso D6. Unfortunately, I couldn't give you a direct comparison of the D10 and the D12. Why not let your ears decide? brows.gif I'm quite sure you'll go for the D12 too laugh.gif

hmm.gif
D12 sound good for its review....
Is there any other option for standalone DAC that <RM1k?
regarding the input power for D10/D12, we can use USB as input power while the input is spdif?

hmmm... in my very personal opinion, the hippo box+ (together with the IC between the DAP and hippo box+) is doing nothing more than coloration in your setup. the sansa clip+ has more than enough power to drive the shroom EB by itself.

ya lo, so this is one case where double amping works. because you like the end result. =)

but if you do find distortion, clipping and other artifacts, the only way out is to remove the hippo amp from your setup.

Yes, I'm aware of that, I just liked the sound when my Shroom EB is paired up with Hippo Box+ biggrin.gif

not that the speaker amp drives differently, the science is all the same. But because the amp for the headphone output is not as good as a dedicated headphone amp.

for the bose (or any other IEMs/headphones), bass cannot be decreased. it can only be tightened to make it more impactful.

creative aurvana air, you want to improve the bass? what aspects do you want to improve on? or are you looking at boosting the bass?

if you want to boost the bass, one amp i like is the DIY mini^3. depending on your budget, there are quite some possibilities.

its a DIY amp. http://www.amb.org/audio/mini3/

you have to look around for the completed amp. i'm not very familiar with the rates here in malaysia.
