Hello guys.. I'm just wondering, is it worth it to buy a Fiio E3 for my earphones and headphones (not audiophile headphones blush.gif )? I mainly use my SonicGear Earpump 2.. I chose the Fiio E3 because I want a clearer sound and maybe a bit more bass for the cheapest price.. My sources are my Nokia 5130, Ipod Shuffle and Laptop.. biggrin.gif

Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

I'd advise u to upgrade ur earphones first instead of wasting money buying amp for it. Fiio E3 will probably make no difference. Add abit more money u can get some entry-level hippo/superlux earphones which are far more superior than sonic gear's.

E3 will give a little bass boost, but I doubt it would make anything clearer. A head/earphone upgrade is recommended for a significant upgrade@difference.

Will the Hippo Groove do any better? hmm.gif

Take the advice, get a better earphone rather than spent on the amp.

ANyway, this is not the headphone/earphone threads.

Hi guys.

I was looking at the Maverick TubeMagic D1 and was thinking of getting it.
I want to ask about the connection on the back as I'm not really sure doh.gif

If i want to connect the DAC to my amp, which analog output do i use?
What is the use of the analog input when this is a D-A-C ? Is it used for the 'Headphone Out' ?

Thanks in advance rclxms.gif

Confused  rclxub.gif

So your source should state PC instead of CD player unless you are using the digital out from it  rclxub.gif

No.. I want to place the DAC in the living room for my dad to use with his cd player which only has coaxial and optical output.. so, i'm looking for a DAC which has coaxial input.. If the DAC has a Coaxial input, that would be enough.. What i meant was, if there is also a USB input, that would be a bonus for me as i can connect my laptop too if i wanted.. Hmm, hope this is understandable.. tongue.gif

Without USB input, FiiO D3, straight forward digital in analog out  nod.gif

With USB option, the FiiO Aplen E17 with L7  flex.gif You will need a 3.5mm mini jack stereo (TRS) to RCA cable.  flex.gif

How's the performance of the Fiio D3 compared to those RM800-RM1000 ones?

For 192KHz/24bit support at that ridiculous price, it is worth the shot  nod.gif

Any other DAC better than the D3? Willing to pay high now (around RM800) because might not upgrade in the future..
