How much more? I'll try - coffee bean @ straits right?  biggrin.gif

Still in Singapore now getting some stuff done. I'll come if I'm back by then. Thanks for the invite!  smile.gif

Added on May 21, 2012, 12:10 pmOh yeah - does the TTD's DAC work with the iPad via camera connection kit? As far as I know, the e17 does not. :/

yeah coffee bean @ straits. When are you going back to PG? i'm in SG. If you're up to it, we can meet this evening / night or sunday night when i get back from PG.

its a RM100 more than your budget, but shipping is not included.

i have no idea if it works or not. theoretically, it should work since no power is required from the camera connection kit. do you have the camera connection kit? if you do, we can always give it a go.

nope, no e17.

I'm probably heading back on Friday. And thanks again for the offer, but I'm kinda busy ATM. Have university registrations to complete.

And no, I don't own one. Planning to get one if I get a suitable dac. Btw, do you have an e17 for comparisons?

Guys, i got a question. Do i go DAC? Mainly now.. because im using a grado s60 and dt231. And from what i felt. The grado are much more clearer in the vocals. Mostly mids and high. The bass, is abit weak. But the dt231 are opposite. This is from my laptop. But when i listen on my ipod classic, I felt the dt231 are more utilized compared when i put it on my ipod. The sound is less muffled, and more towards my liking. Same goes with the Grados s60 also, when i plug it in my ipod, it is so much more clearer compared to my laptop..

so the question is, Do i need a DAC? if i get 1, i will mostly get a fiio e10, because im eying on it.. I don't need a portable 1, since i will be using it for my home.

rule of thumb is external dac normally will serve more superior than internal, for low budgets, dac+amp is a good choice, highly recommended

I would suggest getting an amp/dac combo.

What budget do you have in mind. I would always recommend the TTD but depending on your budget and taste, other dac/amps might be more suitable.

For use with SR60 and dt231, I would recommend a darker, warmish amp like the mini 3 or the fiio series of amps. at your budget getting a respectable dac/amp would be a little challenging.

The TTD is at RM700, Dacport is about double. Fiio range I'm not sure about their prices.

sound quality and reliability. I want to buy schiit bifrost but after some research, there is an issue with the clicking sound coming from the device and the issue of the optical input..so it kinda turned off..one more thing, if something happen to bifrost, i need to send back to US and it'll cost me a lot.

hello, can you guys recommend me a good dac for tv? budget 1.5k..
