sound quality and reliability. I want to buy schiit bifrost but after some research, there is an issue with the clicking sound coming from the device and the issue of the optical input..so it kinda turned off..one more thing, if something happen to bifrost, i need to send back to US and it'll cost me a lot.

Perhaps you can try Jaben Malaysia. brows.gif

They do carry Schiit product but on back to back basis i guess.

Contact them for more information.

Has anyone hear / experience on Anedio DAC?

Interesting that someone is preferred it than AGD Ref 7, within USD2k range...

Have a question here...

In normal circumstances,

Source->DAC->Pre amp->Power Amp->speaker

or

Source->DAC->Integrated Amp->speaker

Can it be like

Source->DAC->Power Amp-> speaker?

It's w/o pre amp
What's the function as a pre amp?

Thanks

integrated amp actually consist of both the pre-amp and power amp components, hence the name integrated.

to put it simply, the function of a pre-amp is for volume control. power amp you can think of it as a fixed gain, the pre-amp sends out a variable strength signal based on your volume control and the power amp just amplifies it by a fixed certain amount.

Source->DAC->Power Amp-> speaker = no volume control.

thanks for the explaination.

What if the dac has a volumn control?

or control the volumn through source? eg: laptop/computer

If the dac has volume control, then it has the pre amp function. So you're still going the dac-pre amp-power amp route.

Volume control on the source shouldn't work because usually dacs have a fixed line output. If your dac has a variable output I suppose it could be done, controlling the volume from your source.

After successfully acquired Logitech Squeeze Box Touch & Anedio D2, should I add another USB to S/PDIF transport in between to maximize the sound?

Currently under my consideration: Audiophileo 1/2 or Art Legato

Or any other suggestion?

Thanks in advance
