QUOTE(kumanosuke @ May 25 2012, 10:14 PM)
where ?

I went to survey around Kepong Metropolitan Park the other day. It has signs saying "No Fishing" but a lot of foreigners and locals just fish there. So i guess very little or no enforcement at all.

The people over there usually catch small Tilapia for dinner at the bank of the pond but i did saw a big splash a bit further from the bank. Maybe 1 of the very few big fishes in the pond because it had been abused 99 by locals and foreigners.
*
btw...talking about tilapia's, that day i was waiting for my friend outside my condo, i saw a malay dude walking with 5-6 reasonable tilapia's caught and tied together and 2 rods walking by the roadside. this was a BU area. immediately i aask him 'mana dapat', and he said the sungai near tv3 station. ohmy.gif didn't know gt ppl fish there! gonna go recon there soon.

Bro Kayent,
Mostly Eupro rods are less than 200. Lots to choose from.

I could try to shopping with you, if you want

More likely you need at spend on the jigs and terminal tackle. I intend to go somewhere mid or 2nd week of July.

Bro Chun,
Whats the date you're going under ar?
*
Ahh alright. Could use some guidance. But I can't confirm though if I'm free or not. No $$ also haha. Jiggin is a whole new thing for me.

QUOTE(fookie @ Jun 4 2012, 08:49 PM)
definitely paypond.
i just cash deposit 200 bucks to uncle lim. can buy a freaking rod and a few jigs already biggrin.gif
*
Haha. Can enter ranking for $$ can ady. Oh, and the Seksyen 24 pond jackpot is now at 14k++!!!

Dat 1 for mekong catfish issit? Wads the weight to beat? 45kg Mekong?
*
If u catch a Mekong 15kg n above can enter the weekly ranking ady. Got weekly ranking for Patin category, Tongsan and Rohu separately. For the mega 14k jackpot it has to be a pacu weighing 8kg or more.

Since the date is not fixed yet, perhaps place your name in first then we see how to adjust the dates. Jigging is different compared to bottom sea fishing. Bottom seafishing is time based(weather, current, the whole week response and actions) where as jigging does not.

Jigging covers all range of depth water and all you need is the stamina to perform such nia. Also, in order to sustain energy, there are plenty of methods of jigging where you can conserve energy.

For beginners, i recommend long stroke. Long stroke jigging is where your jigs reached the bottom and you lift your rod from waist degree to 45 degrees(like striking a fish bite), then crank the remaining line while lowering your rod to waist line and the rest is just a repeat. What happened underwater would be the jig fluttering/spiraling/sinking with certain actions(jig hydrodynamic dependant - suggest check out Shimano's center vortex, whirlig and a few more to understand further) also giving time for the pelagic species to wham on the jig and creating reaction strike. Long stroke can also be performed with different speed thus would be a vast coverage of jigging depth for beginner la.

There are others like speed jigging, bouncing base and such.
*
will get poison ka? tongue.gif anyway, put my name in the list first since the dates are not fixed.

Now i am learning to make dedak (bait). I thought fellow anglers here might be interested at the link below. It contains video showing how to make dedak (bait) and where to buy them.

ok now France VS England

Greenbait eh? biggrin.gif

Unless u order online, only place i know that u can get it in KL is at X-Jigger near Jusco Taman Maluri, Cheras.

Personally, the bait smells quite good. I've tried Greenbait (1), P1, P3. Still got a pack or two of durian and yam at home, yet to try. So far I havn't landed any with this bait yet, but my friend did land a few patins with the P3 mix with some other bait. But depends on where u fish la. Like how they put it "lain padang lain belalang" blush.gif
