The subang lake plenty of ppl foul hooking the fishes, especially near the back of the hotel restaurant. Main 'jerat' they say. Damn cruel lo. Even the tilapia I foul hooked was when I was reeling my line in at a paypond and it got caught. Released back into the pond though.

On natural ponds, have u guys tried the small natural lake at Kota damansara. Hardly got a lot of anglers there, weekends I go maybe 3-4 the max. 2 months back I spotted a school of pb's swimming around. But I spotted a dead one there too, as long as my foot. Some guy saw it first near the bank, tried casting a bait but the fish no response. In the end, was carried out with a net, dead. There's also a koi in the lake...still saw it few weeks ago.

Btw, heard from old folks saying that some ppl release a koi to the wild to throw away bad luck? And that catching it will bring u that bad luck? How true is that? Cuz i saw this incident Of the koi in that lake, some fella tried to catch it with some bait...the moment he casted, a lightning n thunder struck nearby on a fine day...and he said pantang. Hmmm???

QUOTE(1dollar @ May 21 2012, 12:05 PM)
Bro are you referring to the KD forrest reserve lake right after the Polo club ?
That place plenty fishes i tell u,.. just matter if you dare to cast light line in,.. the amount of weeds growing wild is damn irritating.
I know cos i lost on in there, I rig a weedless jighead and still lost it.
That lake got haruan, PB, arowana, talapia, toman, damn a lot of tortise, soon hock, heard got patin also.
I've seen the first 4 types with my own eyes swiming around teasing you,.. the fishes there telling you,.. "come waste your lures in here"
Think i will load a 60lb line and rod go there and get my revenge. Love the place and the serenity and the peaceful lush greens. Water slapshes happens as frequent as every 2-3 minutes.

There is another pond in KD, behinds Covar condo, heard got 4-5 kg tomans in there.
*
Yeah that's the one la, the forest reserve near the school. Damn nice ecosystem. I just found out that u can take a short walk inside the forest to reach the deeper end of the lake where it forms a river. A jogger told me Better luck there than castin near the banks. Saw kids swimming there too.

Main problem is getting snagged la. I lost spinners, spoons n weedless rigs as well. Last I went I played bottom caught a small knifefish I think. The fishes memang tempting lo but hard to catch, all 'educated' fishes lol. Next I gonna bring small anak ikan and try the haruans. All my lures failed there.

Bro, where's this codar condo pond?

Bro 1Dollar,
Can set up a 1/2 day trip there?

Me and Bro Chun have both inflatable boat and fiber boat

Possible to launch a boat there? Since it's not huge place, i propose that we use paddle enough liao. No need thruster also smile.gif
*
Yes possible. I've saw the school kids with a small fiberglass boat paddling there. Some school club activity I think.

Personally have seen kids from the school boating there. Yes what bro 1dollar said was right. They Carried the boat to the side n from there paddled in. But anglers on boat I never seen. A lot cast from the side railing.

I've got pics too but can't attach from mobile phone. But be warned of the weeds, top floating n bottom also got.

Ahh thx for the map. Didn't know got another lake there. Hmm maybe one of these days I'll go.

Just to add to the directions for the forest reserve lake, the turning is at the traffic lights with a signboard showing sekolah sek10. A lot of traffic lights Along the road. If u guys plan to go lemme know ya! Haha

If catch nothing can go eat nice steam fish at 'lan je'. Rawang also got hahaha.

Btw I is my setup abit to overkill for rawang?
4000reel with 25lb line? I no smaller reel la cuz I mainly fish at larger payponds.

mine also 4000 reel with 19lb line and 15lb line only. Shd be ok la.
Bringing my size 30 with 6 and 10lb too to try. kasi testing how to break my cheap rod lol.
*
Haha. Talking about breaking rods, does the line poundage play factor? Should it not exceed the rod lb? That day my friend was using a 30lb line on his 2 day old new rod which I think was a 8-15lb, 2nd fish of the night he broke it on a 6kg patin. =.=

Anyone tried fishing in Bandar Utama 4
Bro Inv found this place, we were suppose to to check out.
Looked like a flood control pond, anglers were spotted according to our source.
After 1U new wing,.. drive further down and take the first left turn. This lake is on the right side.
*
Wah damn near my place le. I think I jog 10mins can reach ady. Haha. Kk will try check it out.

how come your friend match 30# line with 15lb rod ?
Yeah that BU4 pond quite near,.. i can see from my office desk.
*
that's the thing la. he never ask before buy. N I think the tauke also never told him earlier. He bought the rod, reel n line all siap pasang. He chose the rod himself considering the action was quite stiff. Straight kena...pak...break into two.

U working around BU? I staying at the condo nearby

Yeap. Got time find me yamcha at Safa. I regular there nearly every night with my fishing buddies. Haha. Oh the subang lake u guys go the smaller middle lake Issit? What u guys have tried to lure the pb's?

QUOTE(rorytate @ May 21 2012, 04:26 PM)
I think your friend high stick ler. Meaning that the rod is pointing high up to the sky. All rods should be handled not more than 60degree from ground level when kena fish. Anything more prone to get into trouble.

If you handled properly and the rod patah, it would be different type of patah and you can feel it. Eg, the breaking point is furry with carbons, rather than almost clean cut type.

Mishandled below

Fight till patah type, it will not break immediately, it will slowly tear away the rod's holding point that's why bulu bulu. Unless, tiba tiba the fish pull like a truck, then it's a different story. It also depends on the modulus of the rod properties ler.
*
Hmm I think he high rod maybe. It broke like 5-6 secs after his line caught the fish. Strike, pump once, pump again...prackkkk...break. His rod was quite stiff for a 8-15lb. It Broke in between first n second ring.

QUOTE(1dollar @ May 21 2012, 05:37 PM)
Wow,.. Rawang is like a fishing town. Goggle earth up and found like tonnes of pond there.

natural Exotic ar,... need to buy new rod and reel liao. sked ler. no confidence.
*
Yeap. Same also semenyih. So many ponds.

Mmm. Where u got this lure n how much? I never had any proper lure for pb's.

Btw I'm right next to the BU pond. Haha. Took few photos by scaling the wall on the Ribs restaurant side. Can't seem to find a way in though. Lots of bushes.

Hoho. Time to go lure shopping!

Anyway bro rory, the BU pond is fully fenced up with the construction zinc type fencing all around except one side which was walled up. I pass by it every week not knowing there was a pond inside. Roughly 3/4 football size?

The wall up side was Very low only, a kid could climb over. I just pushed myself up abit to have a look. A few larger holes were spotted on the zinc fencing, signs of ppl entering. No signboards or restriction signs, but the way they walled it up as if they didnt want people to tresspass, safely reasons perhaps. But the bushes were very thick indeed, I assume knee high, didn't see any trail or path.

Was quite dark so I couldn't see a lot. Pond looks deep to me n untouched. No floating weeds or stuff. No signs of any distinct water ripples though

Larger pic in my phone but when I upload I think became smaller haha. Wait I try upload the larger one once my laptop gets fixed.
