QUOTE(kayent @ Jun 4 2012, 04:54 PM) I also same case. Got reel no rod for jigging. Wads good for a rm200 budget? Bro Kayent,Sg kuyoh where ah viox? Time to test my peram baits n see if works or not. Lol Mostly Eupro rods are less than 200. Lots to choose from. I could try to shopping with you, if you want More likely you need at spend on the jigs and terminal tackle. I intend to go somewhere mid or 2nd week of July. Bro Chun, Whats the date you're going under ar? This post has been edited by rorytate: Jun 4 2012, 06:56 PM |

QUOTE(vioxmonsta @ Jun 4 2012, 07:56 PM) Roger that bro. Let you know before i'm heading overAdded on June 5, 2012, 1:22 pm QUOTE(kayent @ Jun 4 2012, 10:23 PM) Ahh alright. Could use some guidance. But I can't confirm though if I'm free or not. No $$ also haha. Jiggin is a whole new thing for me. Since the date is not fixed yet, perhaps place your name in first then we see how to adjust the dates. Jigging is different compared to bottom sea fishing. Bottom seafishing is time based(weather, current, the whole week response and actions) where as jigging does not.Haha. Can enter ranking for $$ can ady. Oh, and the Seksyen 24 pond jackpot is now at 14k++!!! Jigging covers all range of depth water and all you need is the stamina to perform such nia. Also, in order to sustain energy, there are plenty of methods of jigging where you can conserve energy. For beginners, i recommend long stroke. Long stroke jigging is where your jigs reached the bottom and you lift your rod from waist degree to 45 degrees(like striking a fish bite), then crank the remaining line while lowering your rod to waist line and the rest is just a repeat. What happened underwater would be the jig fluttering/spiraling/sinking with certain actions(jig hydrodynamic dependant - suggest check out Shimano's center vortex, whirlig and a few more to understand further) also giving time for the pelagic species to wham on the jig and creating reaction strike. Long stroke can also be performed with different speed thus would be a vast coverage of jigging depth for beginner la. There are others like speed jigging, bouncing base and such. Added on June 5, 2012, 1:26 pm QUOTE(wetwetwater @ Jun 4 2012, 11:21 PM) Guys, any jalan to get hold of a rod rack? Hmm.. It's getting too messy. Time to rearrange and dispose the unused ones. I've seen people DIY using a RM29.90 book shelf. Try googling bookshelf rod rack or book cabinet rod rackAlternatively, you can get a 10feet PVC pipe of 2.5inch. 1. Saw them into 6 inch each 2. You will complete to have 20pcs of 6inch x2.5inch diameter PVC pipe. 3. Either glue them together or tie them up together End result, you will have a bunch of tied up(firmly) 2.5inch diameter pipe. Lay them on the ground, and wallah~! There you go 20pcs rod holder at one go! Added on June 5, 2012, 1:32 pm QUOTE(kumanosuke @ Jun 5 2012, 12:05 AM) Bro Rory, is the rod you chose for me the other day in Kepong suit for jigging ? i know it is not a jigging rod but just asking (crossing my finger hoping can). Bro Kuman,3000 reel + 40lb line enough ? Jigging is also a whole new learning curve for me just like casting plastics. The rod that i chose for you, could be used as jigging rod due to the action of fast tapered and poundage. However, that rod would be good to use with 40~60grams of jigs, meaning that it's suitable for light jigging(P9, Pekan, Merchong, Rompin, Tioman). The place that we're going for jigging would be deep around 240ft average, thus you will need approximately 150grams above jigs depending on the current speed. You would be able to drop the jig to the base, but i dont think the rod would be able to lift the jigs action. Yes, you could say that the rod can handle fishes up to 10kg(depending on how you fight the fish) but the jig would not be able to perform due to the weight and the jig's hydrodynamic. Lots of load to the rod, chances is that it would break. Reckon that you get a new jigging rod which is less ex and useable. As for your 3000 series reel, it's actually enough for the use but the line is not. Suggest to get somewhere around 25~30lb line. Assuming that you are able to get 10m of 40lb in your 3000series, if you were to use 25~30lb, you could get somewhere around 150m(450ft approx) which is sufficient. Unless the place that we hunt have loads of toothy pelagic, there is no need to bring spare lines Added on June 5, 2012, 1:32 pm QUOTE(Rapala @ Jun 5 2012, 11:41 AM) Good to know all of you guys having great fun that day. But too bad for me, i was sick and couldn't turn up. May be another time then. Bro Rapala,Do join us for jigging if you could make it. I remember i customed a PE4Max jigging rod for you.. Bro Viox,
basically you have named the differences. Why do you need 60lb ler? Most jigging in MY is done with 30~40lb and it's more than enough Added on June 6, 2012, 9:31 amBro Inv, Where did you get the finesse braided line? 4lb or 6lb? And how much? QUOTE(1dollar @ Jun 6 2012, 11:17 AM) Dear sifoos, Bro 1Dollar,Any review or comment on the lower range Daiwa BC reels? Like TD Advantage and TD Tierra, are they worth purchasing since both made in THailand, found some good deals on Ebay may be cheaper than KL including drop shipping. This would be same class as Shimano Citica and Curado i think. Bro Viox, You have a TD Advantage right ? how is it compare to like Abu and Shimano? Both good reel i would say. Your Daiwa is higher end compared to Caenan. Why bother buying another lower end BC? |

That i could understand. I've been using BC since ..hmmn (10~15 years ago)
Sound clicker on the tension knob, star drag... to me it's not important. Ultimately, the spool gotta be light, drag gotta match up at least 8lb and lastly, the bearing is smooth. Oh yeah, the cranking gotta go smooth too Any extras is just a bonus Added on June 6, 2012, 4:11 pm QUOTE(fookie @ Jun 6 2012, 04:09 PM) want sound, get mesin katak. 50 bucks can get already. when fighting biggies, you feel like throwing ur reel away. What size? What were you using?try using bottom technique 50cm long leader with a floater, use live bait cast far middle or beside the canteen. toman loves to roarm those spots also. that pump area requires alot of technique and concentration.
