QUOTE(theCrab @ Aug 22 2011, 02:49 PM)
i dotn actually follow the conventional 5-day split again since my working schedule is not fixed
might be you plan tomorrow chest, then a boss phone you and you have to work tomorrow
so i go by feel, whenver i feel like training back today i train, but only once a week
working sucks ,waiting sembreak to resume
*
If this is a perfect world, I'd go 2 days 1 day off, all year long. But it's not, so it's just 4 days a week for me.

Does anyone know how one becomes a personal trainer? Fully qualified one. Because I often see all these guys that go around saying that they are PTs but they know jack about fitness and they're not certified in any way.

Imagine a spring compressing when you lower the bar slowly onto your chest, inhale slowly. And what happens when you compress a spring? BANG! The energy explodes. Same thing, BANG the bar up, explode up, exhale out.

Added on August 23, 2011, 11:14 pmguys, do you all do soft tissue work? tried it and it works.
there's this question that bugged me for quite some time, to stretch or not to stretch? i do include warm up sets before lifting and light cardio for 5 minutes before and after lifting. stretching? i have no idea.
*
When it's legs, i do around 15 minutes of stretching just to loosen everything up waist down. Whenever it's chest and delts, I'll always do rotator cuff movements followed by db shoulder press,db lateral raise with 10lb dbs.

Back/biceps, always 2 sets of 10lb db curls.

@Alpha - why gloves is a must?

I enjoy calluses on the palm of my hands. So to speak. Straps is a must. Belt, not necessarily, but when I go for the heaviest set, I would normally strap it on just in case.

razorboy: straps helps transfer the load from the forearm to the wrist, right?
*
straps help to isolate your lats during your pulling movement. Your grip which involves the strength of your forearm and when you pull(involves your biceps) is the weakest link in your pulling movements(Back). By using straps, you remove that weakest link and focus only on your back. In a perfect world, the grip would be removed completely, but regardless, there still will be grip involvement.

They're good but there are other alternative machines.
*
When we talk about hammer strength machines for chest press and shoulder press , that's some good stuff there. Really mimics the movement of dumb bells.

Anyway, you talked about alternatives. Such as?

its been sometimes i didnt wear glove for my workout haha...

feel troublesome
*
I used to wear gloves, a long time ago, I stopped after one specific incident. I was shrugging , and it keep falling off my grip. I got pissed and just took it off and went barehand on shrugging. Completed the set with ease. And gloves were off since then

Leg day. Ripped my pants on my 2nd set of front squats. -.-

To shield myself from embarassment, I went to extensions and curls instead.

Try unilateral ext and curls, and uni leg press. Trust me, it'll be fun. Especially when you put in sone 100 rep and 50 reps drop sets.
