guys, where can i go to test out (and buy?) 5N? went to a few camera shops in 1u but no stocks for 5N, only got 5.

is the 5N a good entry level for a first time owner? i've read good reviews about it. but when i tested out the 18-55mm? (the bigger lens) it doesn't zoom as far as i'd like. but if i take the zoom lens i only get a single lens which is the zoom itself (without the pancake) so i'm really not sure which to get.

Added on November 1, 2011, 2:05 ami take a combination of party pictures / people (better use of pancake?) and buildings / architecture / objects which sometimes really need to zoom in close close. i would've preferred a pancake + zoom lens combination but that doesn't seem to be available or am i mistaken?

How many of you can realize the different between 1080p vs 720p?? simple question if we see the theory, but in REAL LIFE, how many of us will know??

actually i have some dilemma, i like Sony NEX-5N but too expensive, so a bit lower is Sony NEX-5 or Sony NEX-C3, i use DSLR before but want to smaller my "Weapon" so i look after micro 43 or this E-mount series.. after doing survey and research, i found that E-mount series spec is more DSLR look alike in the micro 43 body (perfect combination!). C3 More cheaper with 720p Video but better photo quality, Nex5 is mid price but it got 1080p with lower photo quality, NEX-5N the best but expensive.. i'm still life photographer, candid freaks, but need to make some clip sometimes.. of course my movie not played in theater, only for documentation.. so which one i should take?? prefer as cheap as it can..

hmph.. about 24fps support it quite great feature too also more high tech gadget, more long lasting the price will stable.. but 5N just quite bit expensive.. anyway, i just realize that the camera market just like Handphone market, they have AP product too.. haha.. think to get some AP NEX 5N if come with great price..

hahaha alright, sorry.. actually i like to be original, but i've bad experience with sony camera (sorry a bit out of topics) long time ago (looks like a story teller?? haha) my firs sony cam is DSC F717. that time dslr not really popular and really expensive, so i chose DSC F717 cos it's look DSLR alike but lens can't be change, of course the spec is really high at the moment (5mp is great lah for digital cam at that time) sure original n warranty 1yr. JUST AFTER 1 YEAR, maybe pass 2-3 days, than suddenly the LCD live view become pinkish.. even the result not pinkish, so i try my luck to claim with sony (hope not expensive if i need to pay), unfortunately he charge me almost 1000RM and that time the price of DSC F717 already drop to 1600-1700RM so i cancel to repair it an keep in the drawer.. bad experience that make me "anti-sony" product.. even laptop, home electronic, etc, just Phone that i can accept..

now i want to buy sony again 1st. i like the spec, 2nd, my wife is sony FREAKS (before we married, after, i hypnotist her to become anti sony hahaha, just kidding..)

all here love NEX series, but anybody here have bad experience with it?? just want to hear the worst before decided to buy.. 

Thanks for the detailed piece of info bro. I'm a (soon to be) first time owner of an interchangeable lens camera. In fact was shopping around for a cheap DSLR when I saw this and thought it suited me more. I wouldn't mind buying the zoom lens separately, but was told by the salesman it costs almost RM3000 for the lens alone. He gave me the option to take the camera with zoom lens only for the same price / slightly higher than I would for the dual lens.

How much do these zoom lenses really go for? I might go with the pancake and a 18-200?

I was actually refer to the NEX5, sorry for the misinformation. The salesman wasn't deliberately pushing sales. The thing is I'm not sure if the zoom lens would be all that useful. I remember playing with a friend's camera (his is a NEX5 and he bought the zoom lens) and was really impressed by it. I tried out the 1855 and it can't really zoom very much, afraid I will find it insufficient when I need to zoom. Otherwise I would've had no qualms with the 5N + dual kit. Decisions, decisions... If the 5N came in a zoom lens bundle I would've probably gotten that already.. can I expect that bundle anytime soon?

How much do you think it will cost? Hopefully much cheaper then 18200

Seems like the NEX 7 sensor has no micro lenses. Pity.

hey Boeing Sg Wang has black body now? any idea if they have it as a package (twin lens)? i called them earlier in the week and they said they don't have black, and will call me when they do. but they never did
