I looking for this for long time.
worst will get from ebay.
*
Ebay is the only place where I have seen this. No one carries this locally.

Do note that it will not fit onto 5N properly, since 5N does not have the tabs at the bottom of the LCD. Probably need to tape it to hold it.

Anyone interested getting a class 10 Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-1 90mb/s for their NEX?

I got few coming in for 77, thought wanna share the joy with Nex 5n users here, if there is any....

Speaking of which, can't wait for the EVF to come for an add-on
*
Sounds good, I'm interested. Was doing some burst shots the other day, and realised that my mem card was not keeping up. How many GB?

You're waiting for the EVF? No stock around your place?

Err, more like I am waiting for stocks to sell the EVF to you people smile.gif

I am somewhat a small dealer tongue.gif
*
Oh! Haha, Okay. Do let me know the prices. Any chances you're selling lenses? Looking high and low for the SAL35F18. Finally found one used unit, but seller won't be releasing until 2 weeks. Planning to pair the 35F18 + LA-EA2 as walkabout. Pretty good results so far I've seen online.

Any recommendations where to get Nex 5N?

I just called Boeing, they quoted me RM2799 for the twin kit lens.
*
RM2799? Wow, they've really increased their prices quite a bit... Maybe they serve walk-in customers better? Just last Saturday when I asked at their shop, it was still RM2599.

Just to be on the same track, you called Sg. Wang branch or Mines branch?

Hi all, I'm looking for a circular polarizing filter. I have asked around and the price is around RM150 (for NEx 5n 18-55). My question is.

1. Anyone here have use it on their Nex?
2. Is it worth it?
3. Is there cheaper price to buy out there?

Added on November 11, 2011, 3:30 pmHi guys, something interesting i just found on the net and i want to share with you.

What brand are you using first?

1. I'm using a Hoya CPL. Works fine, not too much flaring.
2. The usage of the CPL varies. Some people use it to add contrast, some use it as a 1-2 stop ND. For my personal experience, it adds quite a bit of contrast when I use it with my 50/1.8. It's also great to give the sky a pleasing poster blue color. Worth it? Definitely.
3. There are a lot of cheaper brands, some even RM50. BUT! With cheaper filters, it'll be lower grade. Flares will be much more obvious, and the polarizing effect not as obvious. I have an Octopus and Hoya; the Hoya performs much, much more better.

oh yeah, just to check with you, if I put on the lens hood, would it have turn out better? Cos I didn't bring put that on when I took those photos.
*
The lens hood will help quite a bit to reduce flare, and increase contrast.

ya thats what i did, carrying extra battery

btw want ask u all sifu.. i've got 16mm lens n planning to get a wider one.. dont know whats the diff between the fish eye and the ultra wide ? issit worth getting? pls advice. tq
*
The ultra wide adapter will change your effective focal length to 12mm. It's a great accessory for only RM300~ Many people agree that the kit 16mm is better with it. The only problem is, with the Ultra Wide adapter attached, you can't use any filters as there aren't any threads on it.

The fish eye adapter is mainly for special effects. It adds a wide circular distortion to the picture. Image google fish eye to get a better idea.

how much nex c3 cost now?
what other accessories we need other than the standard items
bundle inside?
other accessories that we can request free from shop?
*
Most of the times they will give you:

1) Tripod (9 out of 10 a Digieye TR-37)
2) Screen Protector
3) Carrying bag

Definitely you will need a cleaning kit:
1) Cloth
2) Blower
3) Lenspen

Consider getting a clear protective filter for your lenses. A full charge will net you about 200-250 continuous shots; a second battery would help. The basic neckstrap is terrible; get a neoprene strap, much more comfortable.

How's the useability with the LA-EA2? Balance and ergonomics?
*
This thing is fantastic.

The adapter doubles as my left hand grip. It's light. Very, very light.

AF is fast as expected. Half press, confirm, half press, confirm. I have it set to spot focus. Wide focus mode isn't as effective, and goes bonkers sometimes. Local focusing works as expected.

The cons? Battery life. This thing sucks battery like Charlie Sheen does a line of coke. And, you do not get DOF preview. During live view, everything is at wide open aperture. So a little practice is required if you are shooting at smaller apertures. Because of this as well, the shutter produces two distinct sounds (w/front curtain on). First sound is the aperture closing down, and the second the shutter moving.

Overall: If you have some A-mount glass, and a NEX-5N, get this adapter. I run around now with the NEX-5 and NEX-5N together, in the same bag.

Not sure on price range for shops; I normally buy online, here at the lowyat garage sales forums. Quite a few vendors there; check it out.

tqtq.. like tat i think wide one better than fisheye.. now im thinking whether to buy 18-200mm lens or not...

nex5 body only can sell how much ar brand new?
*
The SEL18200 will be great for video. Different OSS system for that. But, it's pretty pricey. If you're from Penang, there's someone selling a used unit there for only RM1,500 at garage sales forum. Unbeatable price; I would say it's downright mad. If I was from Penang, I would have bought it already.

A new 5N body only can be bought for only RM1,800. Again, quoted from Boeing Sg. Wang. I did not find out if it is AP model or not; I bought my 5N body from the hero of Alpha world, Uncle Chin @ Studio Zaloon. RM2180.

bro, mind to share where and how much you bought the LA-EA2?
*
I got my entire set from Uncle Chin @ Studio Zaloon.

1)5N Body - RM2180
2)LA-EA2 - RM980
3)SAL35F18 - RM690

It was quite funny; he had no idea Sony Style had the EA2 adapter in stock already. If I didn't ask him about it, he would think it was only coming in January. So he brought in stock the next day for me. Excellent service.

Actually, no, he only had the black bodies left. No silver, no white.

Seems that we're really finally feeling the problems from the flood.

Brah and Sis,
if my sensor is dirty where can I get free cleaning?
*
Define dirty. Dust specks, or gunk (oil, thumbprints?)

If it's just dust specks, a blower will get rid of it easily. In any case, cleaning the NEX sensors are much easier compared to DSLRs since it's so close to the mount. If you're using a Sensorklear lenspen, make sure you blow the tips of the lenspen first.

You have to remember that you're not actually cleaning the sensor; it's the optical glass on top of the sensor that's being cleaned. Just use light pressure, and don't overdo it.

If your sensor is gunked up by oil or some kind of sticky stuff, it's recommended that you send it in for servicing.

what brand of lens filter you all use for your lens.
how much hoya filter 49mm cost.
shop offer me when i buy the c3 at aver awards.
rm 130 for haida filter and rm 190 for hoya filter.
*
RM190 for a Hoya UV? It's only RM70 over at Shashinki, and Shashinki isn't exactly a cheap place to shop.

Never heard of Haida filters.

If you want really good quality stuff at a decent price, opt for Marumi filters. Really good performance.

Not an impossible dream; it's just a matter of when.

The only dream part is a pancake. Will probably be sized around the 30mm / 50mm.

i got a question to ask bros expert here...

I've got SAL75-300 with EA1 and planning to get SEL18-200. How does it compare these both in terms of zoom and pic quality and other aspect i dont know? sorry u might find my question abit stupid but im no expert. Used to used point n shoot. someone told me good camera definitely take good pic. thats why i bought nex5.
*
At overlapping focal lengths the 75300 has better across the frame sharpness. However, at 70mm and below, the SEl18200 has very high levels of sharpness. The SEL18200 is a really well made lens; remember with it, you gain optical stabilisation (about 4 stops), making it somewhat usable in low light conditions. With the 75300 you will struggle a bunch. You can try out the LA-EA2 adapter with the 75300, then you will realise why it's called a SSM lens. The EA1 adapter is terrible; just to get aperture control and EXIF data, but handicapped by the slow AF speeds.

Good cameras only provide you with the ability to take good pictures. It won't take good pictures by itself.

it's normal if after you operate your camera for more than 10min non-stop your camera will feel slugish. mean your camera take a few second before click even after you press the shoot button. also process the photo. it happen to my c3.
can someone enlighten me
*
What memory card are you using? Continuous bursting will definitely lag the camera a bit. I used a class 4 pendrive with my NEX-5, and boy does it lag like hell when I start bursting without pausing. Upgrading to a Sandisk Extreme HD/Pro will make a whole lot of difference.

Which is why I use the Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-1 cards..

Since occasionally, I do get trigger happy =,=
*
Apparently, the UHS-1 cards only provide a 10-15% speed again over the HDs. There was a thread on DPreview just a few days back investigating this. More to body limitation; the A77 and Nex's can't write fast enough to the cards.
