I just answered similar question today ; repaste here. Looks like I have to post this in page 1 - I assume there were basics that most users should know
The internal 16 GB is flash memory. 2 GB is partitioned ( unviewable ) and all your apps is installed there. Out of the balance 14 GB, about 2GB is used by phone suystem and you have about 12 GB left . When you installed apps with supporting data , example games downloads, dictionary data, newsfeed, tweeter feeds data etc - all such data goes into the other 12 GB partition
In this case papago x5, the Navisea folder should be in this 14 GB partition. If you use any file explorer : this is the /mnt/sdcard

If you put in a external micro SD card - you will see this card at /mnt/sdcard/external_sd

Trust this is clear to you
*
Yes, I read that. Sorry if i'm being too dumb, but what do you mean by /mnt/sdcard? I don't see any mnt nor sdcard folder when i connect my phone to my laptop.

btw i'm using samsung usb drivers to connect, not samsung kies

edit: ok after reading noobi's post above i think i get it. will give it a try..thanks!

the /mnt means mounted and you see it only when you view files inside your phone using a file explorer .

what case do u all recommend for SGS 2? Since its quite new at malaysia, i hardly find any case a t low yat.
*
Please write down " CASES for SGS II, or leather cases or resin cases , xenus cases, argos cases etc etc " in Search topic and you will see discussions on this topic. I'd suggest you go to official version 4 and 5 - there are a lot of discussions on this with purchase links and many photo shots

3rd, 4th and 5th link seems not working... couldn't locate SEP info.

Anyway I'll be in KL coming weekend, how high is the chance I able to get a set off SEP outlets, can I book a unit with them?

WTA - I just pre-ordered 2 SGS2 from the launch.

Want to ask if the Titanium backup from SGS would work on SGS2 like Memo or Mini Diary?

Yesterday, heard there is 7 people didn't want to come collect their RM799 SGS2 after registering on the launch day. If anyone wants to get the SGS2 today, can get them but for the normal package price.

I couldn't get as my contract is expiring tomorrow and I need to pay Maxis RM500 to terminate (so stupid vmad.gif)

Tried the above mod. Okla, but th DSP + CM7 Player mod is easily available through VRTweaks so I did that.

And guys, do yourself a favour and install any of the free flipfont packages on the market. Stuff is so much clearer with new fons for people who don't zoom in like me.

As some users r complaining that SGSII got no notification lights or comparing it with u-know-what , just in case u guys missed it as it was mentioned by 1 of the forumer earlier , there is an alternative which was initially developed for SGS . Its call NoLED which can be downloaded from " Market " and its free . Working well on SGSII .

So which mean the internal flash memory using MicroSD card?and that mean originally it come with 1 MicroSD card BUILT-IN right? if not why people keep repeating INTERNAL MicroSD card and EXTERNAL MicroSD card..I think this is why some people cannot get to understand it..

Hope my question can help people out there laugh.gif

Sorry again but i've been trying and googling for the past 45mins trying to figure our how to mount. Copied from a website:

Take you phone, in Idle mode, open the application list and select Settings → About phone → USB settings → Mass storage. (There are four modes like Samsung Kies, Media Player, Mass Storage, and PC internet. You just want to copy/paste files on the phone, so just select Mass Storage.)

But I don't see the option 'USB settings' in 'About phone'. How do I access the mass storage?
Everytime I plug the usb cable into my phone it automatically says 'connected. press the home key to quit samsung kies'. I can't do anything else unless I quit.

go and enable usb debugging in settings and end process all your kies.
then when u connected, you put it in either one of the 2 drives that appears.
then u unplug the cable, open ur phone and open My Files.
on top you can see the address, press the up button till the top part says sdcard
that is where u must paste =)

there r 2 ways to do it ... Easiest for me is
Settings > Applications > Development > Usb Debugging
" Check usb " debugging and the next time u plug in your cable , u will see a icon on top for u 2 pull down to select " mass storage " mode OR
Refer to page 1 of Benny's post which I'm sure u r 2 lazy to read and that is y u r asking here after spending 45 mins searching thru the net

If u try to install papago then just run kies (not wifi kies) and paste the folder at /sdcard (this is the root folder) means /sdcard/NaviSEA

root = /sdcard

if you create another folder means /sdcard/gps/NaviSEA it will not work.

edit : I remember i have problem copying NaviSEA folder to phone because it keep failling at the audio file. What i do is just zip the whole file transfer the file to phone. Download a unzip program for the phone and unzip at the phone tongue.gif

Bro, I never said the internal is micro SD card . It is FLASH MEMORY and is partion into a 2 GB for apps and balance ( about 12 GB) for support data of the apps. I also never said it is a 1 GB ? More you ask, more you confuse other people
The terminology used is always internal SDcard . There is no "micro" word - you don't see this word when you access the file system. If you use a computer to access , the internal SD is shown as NO NAME
OMG my English must be getting bad that I what I write, people still don't understand

Thanks, it's clear now. FYI I've read page 1 a few times in the past few months but as i'm too new to android and smartphones, I don't know what a lot of them mean when I read them without having a phone with me. So I didn't remember that there was something about mass storage in the list of information that Benny provided. Again, thanks for answering even though it's a sounds like a lazy question to you.

Yea, that's what I did earlier but it didn't work. Perhaps i'll try redownloading the naviSEA folder and try again. Thanks
