Just flashed XXKF2 firmware and the difference is really noticeable. Previously the lock screen appears after 1-2s from pressing the home button as some people stated here. But after flashing XXKF2..only takes less than 0.5s smile.gif

Hey guys, couple of questions:

1. I tested sygic aura gps just now but the arrow doesn't move..and it says internet connection lost (i'm not on data plan right now). Does sygic require an internet connection to work?

2. Saw SanDisk 16gb micro SD card just now at AEON home centre for rm85.90..is that a normal price? I saw kingston 1 RM149 O.O Both are class 4. Is SanDisk a good brand for micro SD?

A question on papago: when you say put the NaviSEA folder in the root sdcard, what does it mean? What is the name of the folder where i should put the naviSEA in?

The folders I have in my phone when I connect to computer:
Android, Attachments, Aura, burstlyImageCache, data, DCIM, LOST.DIR, media, openfeint, Samsung, ShareViaWifi, TunnyBrowser, usbStorage, WhatsApp

edit: i'm asking this because I tried to just paste the naviSEA by creating a new folder (means add a naviSEA folder in addition to the list above) but the papago fails to launch

it means move your NaviSea folder into your internal sd card so it shows " Removable disk (H)/NaviSea " on your computer
*
Internal sd card is not internal memory? Because currently i don't have a microSD card in my phone..haven't buy 1 yet. Means i need an SD card to install papago?

I just answered similar question today ; repaste here. Looks like I have to post this in page 1 - I assume there were basics that most users should know
The internal 16 GB is flash memory. 2 GB is partitioned ( unviewable ) and all your apps is installed there. Out of the balance 14 GB, about 2GB is used by phone suystem and you have about 12 GB left . When you installed apps with supporting data , example games downloads, dictionary data, newsfeed, tweeter feeds data etc - all such data goes into the other 12 GB partition
In this case papago x5, the Navisea folder should be in this 14 GB partition. If you use any file explorer : this is the /mnt/sdcard

If you put in a external micro SD card - you will see this card at /mnt/sdcard/external_sd

Trust this is clear to you
*
Yes, I read that. Sorry if i'm being too dumb, but what do you mean by /mnt/sdcard? I don't see any mnt nor sdcard folder when i connect my phone to my laptop.

btw i'm using samsung usb drivers to connect, not samsung kies

edit: ok after reading noobi's post above i think i get it. will give it a try..thanks!

the /mnt means mounted and you see it only when you view files inside your phone using a file explorer .

Sorry again but i've been trying and googling for the past 45mins trying to figure our how to mount. Copied from a website:

Take you phone, in Idle mode, open the application list and select Settings → About phone → USB settings → Mass storage. (There are four modes like Samsung Kies, Media Player, Mass Storage, and PC internet. You just want to copy/paste files on the phone, so just select Mass Storage.)

But I don't see the option 'USB settings' in 'About phone'. How do I access the mass storage?
Everytime I plug the usb cable into my phone it automatically says 'connected. press the home key to quit samsung kies'. I can't do anything else unless I quit.

there r 2 ways to do it ... Easiest for me is
Settings > Applications > Development > Usb Debugging
Check usb debugging and the next time u plug in your cable , u will see a icon on top for u pull down to select mass storage mode OR
Refer to page 1 of Benny's post which I'm sure u r 2 lazy to read and that is y u r asking here after spending 45 mins searching thru the net

Edit : post no #4 , question no 5
*
Thanks, it's clear now. FYI I've read page 1 a few times in the past few months but as i'm too new to android and smartphones, I don't know what a lot of them mean when I read them without having a phone with me. So I didn't remember that there was something about mass storage in the list of information that Benny provided. Again, thanks for answering even though it's a sounds like a lazy question to you.

Those mounting are for other phone. If u try to install papago then just run kies (not wifi kies) and paste the folder at /sdcard (this is the root folder) means /sdcard/NaviSEA

root = /sdcard

if you create another folder means /sdcard/gps/NaviSEA it will not work.
*
Yea, that's what I did earlier but it didn't work. Perhaps i'll try redownloading the naviSEA folder and try again. Thanks

Why not u try Sygic? I found it is better than papago in terms of satelite locking speed.
*
Yea Sygic locks very fast but the downside is it needs an internet connection to get started up like what Benny said. As i'm currently not on any data plan, I can't really use it.

Thinking about trying the Google Maps 5.6.0 ownhere but that also need internet connection right?

Hi all,

I am trying to use Supercurio 3 to root.

Can anyone guide me the steps?

There's a link in the website to download the below file. What do we do next with the file?

"100_Kernel_Gingerbread-supercurio-3.tar"
*
You have to download Odin, connect your phone to the computer, and use Odin to flash the kernel. After that your phone is rooted smile.gif

Anyone else face the same problem or knows a solution to this?

Is hard to get satellite lock with papago, u need to run your google map get the satellite lock there then only run papago. Try test it when u driving in your car not indoor. I got mine working  thumbup.gif
*
Tried that too, still didn't get a lock at all. On the top right corner of the screen there's a satellite icon with a question mark, and I heard that means they can't get a GPS signal. But my sygic and google map can get the GPS location in 3-5 seconds, weird.

Might be a problem with my papago, will try to reinstall the whole thing again..haih.

hi,

sgs & sgs 2 support many video formats. can play FLV (some flv cant works), avi, mp4, mkv, 3gp and etc. but cant play rmvb..
*
I downloaded some music videos in mkv format and I realise the video plays slower than the audio. If you let the video run for 1 minute or so (don't skip through the video)..u can realise the sound doesn't sync with the video.

Does anyone else face this problem?

I notice when recording videos in higher resolutions that the camera will zoom in..is this normal?

The higher the resolution i choose..the more the camera auto zooms..and i cant zoom it out. For 1080p it's quite zoomed in..makes it kinda hard to record closer videos
