yup, no screw at all.. the cover is locked using clips only.. mine is 6001tx..

update: managed to open the cover using small flat screwdriver to release the clips..

download ccleaner, then look for the option to disable some startup programs. disable some that you think you don't need, and hopefully you should notice a better performance.

Other please avoid uninstalling. Personal opinion as this laptop has quite little bloatware. I might suggest uninstalling Norton and use other Antivirus solutions available.

+1 i removed Norton and installed Nod32. Microsoft Security Essentials is good too.. you can find the download link in the 1st page.

You removed some HP software, can you use your fingerprint sensor?

- IDT Audio > Audio Driver
- Intel® Display Audio Driver > Audio Driver too..
- Intel® Management Engine Components > according to here this component is not needed as our proc doesn't have vPro but i think is better to keep for safety purpose.
- Intel® Rapid Storage Technology > SATA Raid controller.. i doubt needed?
- Validity WBF DDK > for fingerprint device

I only use fingerprint reader to login windows. Yes it work.

How many running processes is considered average/optimum?

Acid can pin the assembly video to first post?

I think might come handy for people later on who wish to:
- change thermal paste
- change blueray driver *i doubt*
- change hdd *very probably*
- remove dust from air duct.

*i noticed that the person in the video is very professionally train in handling the laptop and organised the screws very neatly following original order.. more important step is to that he ground himself to avoid ESD which i think is a very good practice in handling internal electrical component.*

so people might run 20 chrome tab which has 20 different processes...

OK done.

My desktop runs about 60 processes.

So I'm kind of worried that my new laptop is running 100.

lol i run around 88 processes and it doesn't lag a lot.

Wah, now the link I posted is up on the 1st page. Haha, feeling so proud...although that DV6 model is different from ours.

Clean install Windows running around 35-38 processes, then just add the software you use,,,

Can somebody help me with my laptop, please?

My problems:

1. Laptop boots on average about 2 minutes. I did this and followed the steps, but it stopped without doing anything after 2 boots. Didn't show any information after that.

2. Laptop often lags.

3. Mozilla Firefox takes about 2 to 3 seconds to load and will go into a "Not Responding" status right after loading for about 2 seconds before it is usable.

What should I do? I'm very frustrated.
