and MAYA too, this is bad...
for photoshop ya right i can run well with intel HD 3000
but thing is i pay money for the package, they shouldn't forcing me to run it with intel HD3000,
even i wan to run microsoft paint with radeon also is my business right? they shouldn't force or fix for me, all i want is simple just let me decide.

now i can see the problem not just because of open GL,
the thing is they  force you to run the OS with intel HD 3000, which mean you are impossible to run any program in window mode with radeon card.
imagine you multi-tasking with few program at the same time some run with intel some run with radeon, is not logic right? your laptop for sure will crash or else bling like hell when they switching lol . rclxub.gif
*
i dun really that is a problem..

i thought photoshop can set the rendering method to use hardware accelerated 1 right?

*preparing to edit this post later on as i dun have my laptop with me now + going to install photoshop later*

and other thing is the catalyst center where you can set which gc to use for which program 1 right?
can change there?

hmm.gif

btw..11.6 CCC don't seems to have the hotkey to change for the graphic card. can anybody verify this?

Previous personal experience.

From One Utama, took a U82 Bus.. straight to Wisma UOA and walked inside to HP Tower. 5 minutes walk top.

More specific starting point?

Just back from HP Tower, managed to fixed the keyboard flexing issue. Overall took around 20 minutes to get the work done.

Comment: Satisfied.

just now i was playing hon until half way that my battery left 20% and i forget to bring my charger with me. I am currently using another HP's charger which is not the dv6's version. do u think by doing this will spoil my battery or laptop by any chance? and if i often pull out my battery while my laptop is running. is it a bad practice?

Thats all. Kthxbai.

is that possible, this is another dynamic switch problem ? is that any other dv6-61xx user having same issue like me and tommyjai have?  rolleyes.gif
*
hmm.gif I think i am also seeing the same thing as you guys..but not really a problem i think. cause i still can play HON and the 6770 kick in without even blinking the screen.. or maybe it just happened too fast.. sweat.gif

for the software and hardware tab.. I think is because theAcid upgraded from 11.5b to 11.6.. and we straight install 11.6?

reinstall the modded version to check the difference later..currently working.. haha..

Is there anyway for me to disable the AMD GPU permanently and only enable it back when I need to use it? I have tried to disable in the Device Manager, but after shut down and re-open my laptop the GPU back to AMD again when AC Adapter plugged in without battery.
*
Enable power play? There is a setting for plugged in and AC both set to maximum battery life?

I think is very tidous to change each and everyone of the setting to know which setting can change the GPU permanently but I think this can help a lot of people smile.gif

I have enabled the Power Play. The main reason I wanna stick with the Intel GPU is because I don't want my palm rest get hots.
*
doh.gif i mean the setting for power play.. u set Batter and Plug-in settings both to maximum power saving.

Or just use power saving mode and adjust the brightness back to full?
Downside of power saving mode is that the core will not run at full speed. only clocked at 798MHz.

Hey guys..I know that the dynamic switching issue has been talked to death over here but since I was rather concerned about how it will affect the programs that I often use which are mostly openGL programs, I gave the hp guys a call just to ask whether this will affect the said programs. After sometime, one of their sales agent told me that he'll ask the technical staff and also his manager to check up on this issue as they themselves have not heard about this dynamic switching issue with openGL programs ( I know!!!....right...)

This is the reply that I got from their technical manager :

So...hmm....well...um..i'll just take their word for it and then will take it from there..so I didnt cancel my order just yet, will wait for the laptop and then test it out. Sigh...hope it all goes well. Reason why I looked to the hp was mainly because of the bundle deal and together with the price, it is really bang for your buck

hmm.. this is strange..

From a little bit of research and googling.

I found out that. Since our dv6 is configure this way

6770 => HD3000 => Monitor

or

HD3000 => Monitor

correct me if i am wrong..

From Intel website Here

HD3000 support up to OpenGL 3.0 shakehead.gif so there should be no problem running any of the OpenGL software both way right?

shocking.gif shocking.gif

I found something else while looking deeper.

HP Intel HD3000 Driver from here => 8.15.10.2291

and

Intel HD3000 Driver from here => 8.15.10.2361

anyone dare to try update?

Because i found something else even more shocking is that..

user posted imageuser posted image

even the Intel HD3000 is sharing the same driver with 6770?!
