Wa.... so fast V2 already!!!
Ah..... the question i asked yesterday regarding the position of the 2 USB3.0 ports.... didnt see the reply yet and when i check back now... already V2.... T.T
Mind any owner of dv6-6114tx please tell me where is the location of the 2 USB3.0 ports? Is it on the right hand side with the BD drive? Or on the left hand side with the DVI/HDMI/LAN port?
*
It is on the left side, you will notice there is a logo something like SS represents the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 slots.

Hey guys, I think the CoolSense permanent fixed setting has been solved with the new version of HP Support Assistant and BIOS, I just updated both, and I tried the CoolSense, and after shut down and boot up my laptop, the setting that I fixed remains there without going back to the Optimized Mode.

o.O... you answerd some of my questions as well... have been pondering whether my dv6-6114tx would come in 4GB or 8GB for awhile now... Because it mentioned that it comes preinstalled... haha.... so meaning total when you get your laptop, it would be 8GB?

Yes.

Where u download it? The driver download page still showing the old one.
Try to run your Hp Support Assistance, it should prompted you a new version of HP Support Assistance is ready to be downloaded and installed, after installed then run again the HP Support Assistance, there should be 3 updates available, if I'm not mistaken one if DVD Burner LightScribe software, another one is HP Bios Update, while the last one is something about On Screen Utility.

Added on June 20, 2011, 10:00 pmOK guys, I hereby confirmed that the CoolSense permanent fixed mode issue has been solved with the latest BIOS / HP Support Assistance where we do not need to select and apply the mode every time we boot up the laptop. It is a real good update for me, as I find the CoolSense is really good in cooling down the temperature from the Coolest Mode, so with this update, it eliminates me to open the CoolSense application and select and apply the mode every time I boot up my laptop.

The CoolSense still not able to permanently applied the mode, it is quite weird, yesterday I have tried three times to shut down my laptop and boot up my laptop, the mode remains the same as Coolest Mode, but just now when I tried to boot up my laptop again, it goes back to Optimized Mode.
*
Yeah, you're right, just now when I boot up my system the CoolSense mode goes back to Optimized Mode, what a weird, yesterday I did tried few times and it works, and today it back to normal, anyway I'm so sorry for making you guys happy for a few moment.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying the HP dv6 with the Beats solo. However according to the reviews and youtube videos, it seems that the Beats Solo headphones are very fragile and break easily, has anyone had this problem yet?

You may search on youtube for videos of the headphones breaking ._."

So, my next question is, is this version the normal Beats Solo, or the Beats Solo HD?
*
It's the normal Beats Solo Headphone.

Yeah, wanted to change but dunno how. Any idea?

one question, when using laptop, what is the best thing to do when connecting to the main power, to have the battery plug in or plug out?
*
Of course plug out, because laptop will generate heats which may harming your battery if plug in.

Hey guys, I have been thinking of upgrading my current HDD into Intel X-25M SSD, so I have a question now, is the recovery DVD that created can be used for the new SSD?

Since I have another external copy of Genuine Windows 7 Professional 64bits, then I think most likely I would use the copy to do a clean format rather than the recovery. Anyway thanks for you guys.

Just back from HP Tower, managed to fixed the keyboard flexing issue. Overall took around 20 minutes to get the work done.

Comment: Satisfied.

why? is your dv6's keyboards flex badly? because i think my dv6 flex a bit but not to the extend that it will need fixing... ?
*
Not actually flexing, but I feel it is uncomfortable to press on the button on the number pad area, it has some kind of noisy sound when I press the button, so my guess was the keyboard was not placed perfectly, so just now when they check for me, and they told me the keyboard is working fine and cannot replace a new for me, so I insisted the technician to try to take out the whole keyboard and try to replace it back, afterwards, the noisy sound gone, luckily I had insisted them to try to take out the whole keyboard and replace. rclxms.gif

Added on June 28, 2011, 6:22 pmIs anyone using Cooler Master U3 on this laptop? How's the performance? Does it really cool down the laptop temperature by few degrees?

^ Push the battery slider to the left and remove the battery.. then push the slider to the right and slowly pluck out the backpanel.

Very scary experience.  ph34r.gif

I feel like it's okay, been pluck out the back panel for about few times.

Guys, do you know how to solve this issue? I'm unable to switch my AMD GPU to iGPU after updating my CCC to latest version. By the way, is there anyway that I can permanently use the HD3000 instead of AMD GPU?

Is there anyway for me to disable the AMD GPU permanently and only enable it back when I need to use it? I have tried to disable in the Device Manager, but after shut down and re-open my laptop the GPU back to AMD again when AC Adapter plugged in without battery.
