Why mine no EPG? maybe your tv special.
What's your TV brand ?

From trusted news I got, RTM do experiment in collabration with Sony for news interactive menu / layout. May be later KKMM will come out a list of apparatus (incl. STB, TV, etc) complied with M'sia DVB-T2 standard. Yet, KKMM still silent about this and keep consumer guessing. I have no clue how long KKMM will come out the list of complied apparatus for our DVB-T2.

Attached samples of logo that apparatus complied with DVB-T2 standard in Singapore and Thailand respectively (approve by their respective govt body) as per below:

Mine is the K2 mini DVB-T2 thats selling in lazada for about RM90++. And I think I know what's the reason. Mostly because the TV has Hbbtv capability (smart tv). For a normal decoder would not be able to get that EPG yet.
*
I think, more precise....interactive menu layout. If it is basic ePG, most of the DVB-T2 decoder can cope with it. May be MYTV will proceed further for the ePG incorporated with interactive menu layout for periodically news info page update, something similar to beriteks / teletext in 1990s, implement in DVB-T2 platform.

Singapore and Thailand have only basic ePG. They do not have interactive page in their digital broadcast. This is the difference between our DVB-T2 compared to Singapore and Thailand. It is something like, for example, if you watch DW TV via Asiasat C-band, any generic DVB-S2 decoder able to view the ePG of DW TV. Sometimes ago, DW TV has teletext in German too but I am not sure now.

With interactive page available in the future via DVB-T2, may be broadband internet connection is required.

My purchase of Thai STBs got detained by Kastam and forfeited.  I wrote to MCMC who responded that only MYTV has the exclusive right to sell and distribute dvb-t2 STBs until at least 2019. They don't even recognise (as in iktiraf)  NBTC's certification.
*
If MYTV has EXCLUSIVE rights, means profit sharing among colonies. At the end of the day, the price of STB melambung tinggi mcm Astro.

Viewing the public comments about MYTV posting here is more informative than their official social media - facebook, MYTV only hire staff to change profile picture rather than posting the progress, take a look how NBTC Thailand (about equivalent to MCMC Malaysia) replied promptly to public enquiries on their facebook about digital TV, ours seems SLEEPING. I use translation feature to get roughly meaning, I can't understand Thai language.

You should go to Thailand and have a look yourself. Not only is there a bewildering array of both indoor and outdoor antennas, there is also a rich variety of STBs to choose from. And THEY ARE ALL VERY CHEAP (and good - tested quite a number)! And the number of FTA channels...fuh. This is what competition does for consumers.

Malaysia biasalah, whatever is not expensive here?

Well said ~ exactly

Most failed DVB-T2 implimentation in South East Asia, even Thailand, Indonesia & Vietnam is in front of boleh-land

Take a picture of "sticker kecik tulis DVB T2 not support in Malaysia" .

If you know to access so-called 'secret' master / factory / hidden service menu, you can enable it. That's the menu which factory settings customized features availability according to its destination / country. For example, if that particular Samsung tv is marketed in Hong Kong, the feature of DTMB digital tuner will be enabled. Hong Kong use DTMB instead of DVB-T/T2, however in some countries, DVB-C function for cable TV is disabled due to request of cable TV operator (reason being that particular cable TV operator in that country authorized samsung to supplied / manufactured DVB-C set top box for them). If users know how to access to so-called hidden service menu, these features can be enabled. Do it at your own risk !

LG 55UF670T is come with DVB-T2 tuners in other South East Asia countries and I strongly believed that your unit too. Neglecting the small sticker there. Proceed to tuning or frequency scanning menu according to your manual or handbook whether you could find DVB-T2 tuning section. If not, you have to find your own way to access hidden factory service menu to enable it.
