My contractor staff stay in my house. For the last two month when his staff relocate to another place. I cover it with wood + nail it until my grills and door was up.

You need to get grill earliest possible. Sometime it take 4 to 5 weeks for delivery. Especially peak period like toward H.Raya, Deepavali, Year End, and CNY.

Yes windows measurement no good for them, the grill mount on the cement wall, and many time the width on the top and bottom may be off by 1cm or more. Windows because the pit the frame, grill depend on wet work skill.

So its better only let them measure once the window "hole" is ready ?

Thanks, Weikee, for sharing your experience.

Passed by your house last weekend and noticed that your neighbour has also done massive renovation to his house. IMHO, your neighbour house is overdone, looks kind of ugly & has also spoilt your facade. The huge balcony and columns seem out of place and does not have practical use. I wonder how the authorities could approve the design. Cheers.

When carrying out renovation work, should consider the facade of the whole row of house. Especially for those link houses. Should see if it effect your neighbours or not. Cannot just do as you like. Our local authorities are also not of any help in this matter as well. They do not take the facade into consideration in their approval. This adds on to our Malaysian mentality. They could not care less about the neighbours....

Hi Crystal,

She like the grand style. Each people have its own taste, so cannot compare lah.

I think she got the permit with the design as the facade on the first floor is open area, not cover. Ah well, is her house so let her be loh.

totally agreed. heard that in those western countries, any thing involving the change of facade will have to get consent from the neighbours, even chopping down a tree need a permit, but over here, nobody cares.

Hi WeiKee,

Just a quick check on conceiling Network Cables :

1) Does the wiremen put the network cable in the same "longkang" as the wiring?

2) do we need to put a network cable into a piping?

Thanks

Drove by your house to fetch my child from tuition. It is really none of my business but there is a saying in Chinese "see can't cross eyes' and so I attach a shot to show how out of place your neighbour's house is in relation to the others' ..... The good thing is your house is now shaded from the hot evening sun.
