QUOTE(g3n0c|d3 @ Sep 9 2011, 11:13 AM) Maverick A1 eh. I've tried it when I visited Jaben Pg last time. Since I just listen to it for a while and very briefly, can't really remember the sound signature. I haven't had the chance to try Darkvoice/LaFigaro amp yet, which is the reason pulls me away from deciding. |

But I've gotten myself iBasso D6, so won't be looking at DAC anymore. At least not anytime soon. Yah, I did consider to get Maverick D1 before this, but Jaben Pg didn't have it that time. Then I tried D6(and lots more other DACs) and liked the details and clarity of it, so just grabbed it. |

No no no... I will be using D6 for both portable and as desktop one.
Instead, plz poison me with the darkvoice amp. And if I get another DAC within short period, am sure my parents and gf are going to nag for a long time. |

QUOTE(Stinky Fart @ Sep 9 2011, 01:18 AM) I will soon own my first pair of professional headphones, the Audio Technica ATH-AD700. I'm just curious if I'm going to make a mistake by jumping from normal RM50 headphones to AD700. If anyone wants to stop me, this is the time to do so before its too late! i would stop you and say jump higher to the ad900 Added on September 9, 2011, 7:45 pm QUOTE(Stinky Fart @ Sep 9 2011, 10:38 AM) sound signature difference. I prefer open cans, and w11jpn is closed can, to me, ad series headphones would definitely sound better despite the w11jpn wins in over all "quality" and no doubt pricing.Btw you could read up review from my site on AD900, also headfonia's website, especially on their shoot out amongst the AD series. (i also linked to their site within my review as i had a lot of references from there) This post has been edited by Quazacolt: Sep 9 2011, 07:45 PM |

the more I read reviews, the more I feel buying AD700 will be a mistake. What if I won't recognize the difference between those and normal earbuds? Guess that is the point in auditioning them first. But still, even if I like the AD700 after auditioning, I just feel that I'm skipping levels. I should be going KSC75 ---> DT231Pro ---> SRH440/SR80i ---> AD700 ---> HD650. I should be taking baby steps into Audiophilia. I mean, the reviewers of professional cans always use terms like "bright", "warm", "cold", "treble", "clarity", etc. I know the words on its own, but when used to describe how headphones, what are they referring to? Oh no, I'm really getting too far ahead of myself... should have just bought a Skullcandy

Hahaha... Take it slow bro, and welcome to the other side!
Well, I don't think there's any problem for u to straight get AD700 if u happen to like the sound of the headphone. Noone says u must go step by step in upgrading, FYI I upgraded my AD900 from AD300 which is quite a big leap. Hehe... I wasn't familiar at all with the terms when I first ventured into this field, but I learned as I progressed/read more. So take it slow bro. And find the headphone that suits ur taste the most as the most important thing is enjoy listening to ur favourite music with ur rig/headphone! |

lol I was in a ranting mode when I wrote that... I do that sometimes
Anyway, yeah will definitely give them an auditioning. I've heard it's just so very big it gets too lose. I would really hate it if I've auditioned and liked the sound, but couldn't get it to fit on my small head |
