Quazacolt, if it is possible, can u post a youtube link of female vocal that u find harsh with ad900?
sorry for the trouble, just want to make sure nothing wrong with the headphone......
thank u very much for ur help...... notworthy.gif
*
errmm.. maybe u can try looking for those high pitch vocals.. honestly i find that the high of ad900 is a bit ear-piercing/harsh.. in my case, Andrea Bocelli -Con Te Partiro and Celine Dion -It's All Coming Back to Me Now.. luckily my amp can soften the high a lil bit..

well speaking of amp, considering govibe peak's (the amp i use) bass coloration, it could be why i dont find the high pitch female vocals harsh at all.
*
ic.. shall try the amp when ive the chance.. =]
im using a hybrid amp, it softens the high and mid, boosting the low thus make the bass punchier.. am really satisfied with the performance..

btw, made my first visit to Jaben Penang.. kena poison by A2000x.. >.<

sounds more like a dac limitation to me.
*
oh, i forgot to add in my GoVibe DAC.. tongue.gif
the high only appear to be harsh when i plug the headphone directly to the jack on pc.. laugh.gif

my setup is PC -> DAC -> Hybrid AMP -> AD900..

@aztoiozalan
gratz bro.. having eargasm now? brows.gif
don't know about ad700 as never tried it, but ad900's high without amping is definitely ear-piercing for me.. i love listening to the sweet high pitch which can give me goosebump though.. tongue.gif

Quazacolt, nice review you wrote. this is a great help for people who want to go the same road with you....anyway changing is just a tuning i would says...
*
not only as tuning but also comfy aite.. i daresay quaza bro can use it for a longer time for each session of listening now..
i find myself uncomfortable after wearing the headphone for 3-4 hours, i could really feel the driver pushing and pressing on my ears.. and with my thick frame glasses make thing worse.. shakehead.gif

you might need this pad as well...if this comfortable why not right...All my AT headphone is leather Pads. which i change few L3000 pads to other model hehe..
*
ahhh.. i don't know man, am really on an extremely tight budget lately.. way until the end of year.. cry.gif
plus, my setup right now really deliver the sound to my liking, kinda afraid the SQ to go the opposite of my preference after changing the earpad.. sweat.gif

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 1 2011, 10:59 PM)
haha most definitely, as i've pulled off around 10 hours on these headphones, and sometimes even falling asleep with it (slow/sentimental/classical songs LOL!) just to get woke up by some heavier/upbeat rock etc hahaha
*
10 hours shocking.gif omg.. that's really something.. do u not feel ur ears a lil suffocated, even though it doesn't cause any uncomfortable? hmm.gif

oh ya, what about Clarino earpad? anyone using it? the earpad for A2000x..
if they are selling it by any change, will it fit for AD900? and cheaper than the leather earpad perhaps?

i always on the move...quite rought tongue.gif can survive?

but AD series is not suitable for portable one.. they are big, quite bulky to bring around..
and they are open cans, environment sound will definitely go inside and pollute ur music..

im more into j music , j pop.

saw from headfi-er recommend ad2000 brows.gif
*
hi there, i've tried AD1000PRM before.. really not to my liking, i like AD900 more.. maybe the mid low coloration is jz too much for me, thus making the SQ a bit weird for me.. tongue.gif
i stopped listening to it within 10 minutes and tried on A2000 later which i straight kena poison.. blush.gif

never tried AD2k though..

i thought the ad1000 prm would be mid high coloration. unless the amp being paired with it is at fault?
*
duno la bro.. the second i listen to it, it really sound very weird to me.. for me, the sound is kinda unnatural.. tongue.gif
about amping, well i tried it in Jaben Pg, plus not my own source.. so i can just talk about my first impression of the headphone instead of comparing it with AD900 or how does it originally sound? blush.gif

Guys, wanna ask something biggrin.gif

The bass produced from ATH-AD series is good or not as I read few reviews, the AD700 lack of bass. I'm thinking of getting AD300, so is the bass there or super low bass type?
*
ya, i would say the bass is there.. but not very deep and strong bass though.. it's open can after all..
btw, if u enjoy trance, AD300 is very suitable.. i never tried AD700, but from reviews i think it is more to detail compared to AD300..

not familiar with those 2, though i do know that the M series are for monitoring.
*
i tried M50 before, well, to be honest i found the headphone kinda boring and dull.. tongue.gif
no offense to those monitor phones lovers, but these phones are just not my cup of tea.. whistling.gif
maybe they need amps to pour in a bit colour?

*

All those figurine i bought i still put it in the box. I even hand carry a big box 1/60 scare Macross Zero onboard the plane. My fren check in a life size baby of chuckee...haha....During scanning near the airport ....from the image in monitor we can see just like a baby...
*
that must be kinda creepy eh.. tongue.gif
icic, so there's no problem with either hand carry or check-in baggage..
but there's still one issue im worrying about, what IF the headphone/amp spoil? the warranty issue is gona be a pain in the arse.. sweat.gif

Wouldn't AD300 bottleneck D12's performance?
pairing D12 with AD300 is kinda overkill.. sweat.gif
