i'd recommend abit cause for asus, you cant adjust the vcore of the processor....so basically, you're stuck at overclocking at stock vcore

yea...you are right...but according to previous users who own this board, they are stuck max at 300HTT for their sempron 2800+ processor because they complain that the new bios that supports the E6 revision does not provide the option to tweak the voltages..perhaps they have fixed it...but from past experience, abit is pretty good...cyclone manage to get 2.76ghz with his sempron 2800+ using that board... smile.gif but the 2 ram slots seem to be a lil turn off... tongue.gif

think the reason why he wanted nforce 3 250gb chipset is because of its AGP port...i dun think he wanna move to PCIe...

Yup Soulfly and Sidewinderz. I still got an old skool 9800pro (AGP). Gonna build it as a second rig so the nf250 is my only choice.

Abit price is around RM27x, while asus is only RM22x. So I was thinking if the extra $$$ is necessary.

no..... a chipset that supports AGP will not support PCI-e and vice versa

that's why nVidia came up with nForce 3 and nForce 4

chewkl,

it depends on how long you're planning to keep the system. if you have plan on migrating to a new platform in the future, i'd say just get the cheapest one.

No, that K8N Neo3 does support certain AGP cards (only some rare cards dont run). I have tried GF4 Ti with it, it works. But 3D performance is not as fast as real AGP mobo. Only for temporary use.

I trade my previous RAM (Corsair XMS3200 rev5.1) with TwinMos PC3200 and my mobo loves it! Heres my overclock with stock Vcore
