Yup. This is what I get for my 1Mbps. Believe it.
As for the 60Gb cap - it is perfect. I can't possibly fill that much a month even though I do download a lot.

QUOTE(KennyKB @ Aug 24 2011, 02:26 PM) Which do you prefer - unlimited usage and screaming low speed like Streamyx or a reasonably capped usage and decent speed? I think 60 GB cap is pretty reasonable, heavy downloaders can opt for VIP10 or VIP 20 with higher caps. It's fair that heavy downloaders should pay more or everybody suffers. Yeah reasonable for normal usage person. For me, waht is the point of providing high speed broadband? For sure use for download! Imagine you have a ferrari car but you can ONLY drive it at 60kmph. With that hig hspeed internet sure can easily reach the quota. TM monopoly the market for so long and have tons of subscriber BUT still maintain with that expensive price+cannot deliver better service AND still want to CAPPED us. |

International connections seems bogged down in the last day or two, I think if the sharks have stopped biting the sub cable then the cable is suffering from some kind of constipation. It needs to be administered prune juice asap.
PS - ironically 10mins after posting this message my line went down This post has been edited by Salamander: Aug 27 2011, 07:42 AM |

squall0833, I guess it's normal as I can also get similar speed from KL server :
![]() But it won't reach 1.5mb/s la. It is pointless for me to hit 1.36mb/s using KL server when I can only hit 0.30mb/s from international servers... my international connection sux BIG TIME. Takes me 6 hours to download a 300MB file... |

It is pointless for me to hit 1.36mb/s using KL server when I can only hit 0.30mb/s from international servers... my international connection sux BIG TIME. Takes me 6 hours to download a 300MB file... Your VPN, FTP, HTTP downloads with single connection with major servers, antivirus updates and important downloads would sometime crawl like snail. Only way is to pump multiple connections and pray that your speed can get as near as it allows by forcing your download manager with 8, 12 or 16 parallel streams. A good connection will get you the same result even with lesser parallel connections such as 2-4 maxing out. TM is selling people a 1mbps local connection. It's ridiculous when other countries can sell 100mbps connections with international speeds hitting over 10mbps with servers across the pacific. Those connections in SG and Thailand can do close to 20mbps with West Coast US server speedtests. It's pathetic to see our 1mbps or even 4mbps can even get close even at 75% of subscribed speed to LA/Tokyo Servers. What do you think? |

Ahn3hn3h (btw, your nick is so complicating!
All I can say is that I am helpless here. There is nothing I can do. I shall just forget about downloading big files now for the time being. It's a hassle to call up TM hotline to rant about it 'cuz all they would do is ask me to "check my Splitter, check my DNS setting, type /ipconfig, and finally make a report" which I have been there, done that. I just hope that this "agony" will end after Raya. But strangely, I tried downloading at my office and it could reach the rate of 1mb/s easily. I have no idea why the connection at home is so shitty... 28 August 2011 (EDITED) : OMG, I tried using DownThemAll addon for Firefox and it completely solved my problem! LMAO! Now my speed goes up to average 100KB/s (instead of the shitty 20KB/s) when downloading huge files. It's back to business! This post has been edited by winshoo: Aug 28 2011, 10:04 AM |

Yay, my Streamyx can P2P again!
BUT, 1Mbps package max is still 120kbps, which at this point, "I am more than happy." Hotmail and Facebook still need to refresh constantly but it works. As for P2P, I got it to wok simply by trial and error : - I stopped using Deluge - Private P2P site now supports latest uTorrent, so I downloaded latest uTorrent - Did not configure anything on uTorrent - Only used high incoming ports (50000 - 60000) - And the usual set my upload to max 22kbps (which last time I found to give me the best download speed) That's it. It worked. I used to use port 45682, that I tried, and I was not connected to any seeders. For some reason, no matter what port I use for Deluge, it never could download anything, just like it was for the past 4 weeks. My max speed is constantly around 90-100kbps, and it peaks at 118kbps. I used to max out at 160kbps, so now it is about 40% slower but that's fine. It still works and I am really glad. *Occasional disconnection occurs, like once in 2 days, a simple router turn off/on solves it. |

My home line used to be able to download at 180KB/s and now barely hit 100KB/s...1Mbps package but my down speed is capped at 4096kbps(4Mbps) according to the modem.

i have no idea why some people think upgrading to higher speed package can solve the instability of your connection.

I think 1Mbps users will have to get used to this. This is "supposed" to be what we get. I too miss the extra speed. I don't understand when you say 1Mbps package but down speed capped at 4Mbps?? |

I think he/she means that even he/she subscribed to 1Mbps package but his/her modem showed that the downstream speed is 4Mbps. |
