Speed still very slow like crap. Very disappointed as can't watch badminton live

Is it me or the connection is very bad here in Perai area, Penang

My line went down from 1:30am till 9:30am. Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, Luyang.

PS - right now the line is going up and down, can barely keep a connection. SNR for down/up not affected at 26. Seems the connections are getting even worse.

Decided to stick on 115.* ip because even though it is usually the shittiest one for me with regards to international routing, I am able to access certain international connections that 110.159 usually connects me to but now refuses to.

my latency suddenly so high

Question...
Everytime i download any rar files, there r alwayz corrupted...?
I tried everything
- format pc
- try other pc
- test hdd, ram etc
- 1 connection downloader...
but still when downloading even iso exe file corrupt...
can streamyx unstable connection effect this???

Likas, KK connection down since Morning of 11/Aug, and not up yet... can get rebate of non-service?...

finally i get my 5mb speed.....but still not stable...average at 200kb....
better that 20kb...

2011 TM maintenance year....

Connection is getting very unstable for me right now. Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, Luyang. Anyone else getting this at the moment? Alot of my tcp based connections keep getting dropped.

In light of recent issues with the internet performance (1Mbps package), I think it is time for me to get the 4Mbps package. Been using for a good few years, and only recently the "free" 1.5Mbps speed has been brought back down and performance has been excrutiating. For some odd reason, until today I can't really access Facebook, Hotmail and repeated refresh is required even for Lowyat.net. RM88 vs. RM130.

You don't need Streamyx if you are only doing web browsing. Apparently YTL's Yes wireless service gives very good performance.

And if you are a heavy torrent downloader, continue with your 1mb Streamyx which is unlimited and subscribe to a VPN or torrentflux service (only about RM20 - 30 a month).

Why bother upgrading to a 4Mbps line if your 1Mbps line can't even load simple things. You're just giving more cash to TM while getting nothing really much in return.

You're both right. Indeed kinda dumb to give them more money. At this moment, I am having "severe" connection issues. It has been like this for 3 weeks. I am an avid P2P user, an am an esteemed member of a private P2P site. Any other way of downloading from this private site is strictly prohibited and no doubt a ban will be imminent. Even the client version used to download has to be exactly in the list. At this moment only all versions of Deluge works. Sadly, for the past 3 weeks none of the P2P has been downloading. My upload/download ratio has plummeted really badly and a swift ban will be in the future, about 2-3 weeks at this rate. Tried online/direct HTTP methods of downloading but all fails or the service is down.

Besides P2P, for some odd reason, with all the maintenance work going on, I can't quite load Facebook and Hotmail. Twitter works, and other sites too. Hotmail has taken the turn for the worst for me - it wouldn't load, or when loaded, I can't click to open Inbox / Sent items etc.. Facebook - can't even get to the login site. I am super busy at the moment to call up TM Net and report the "issue".

So is this an "issue" with my connection of maintenance work? I live in Kepong and for the past 3 weeks it has been an absolute nightmare. I have always been an avid TM Net user and always supported their upgrading/maintenance works. For the first time, I am thinking of moving to other providers. I'm most comfortable with wired ISP solutions. My cousin moved on to P1 Wimax as is extremely happy about it, never used it before but its wireless.

...oh and thanks to them taking back their bandwidth, the max speed of my 1Mbps is now 120kbps (used to be 170kbps).
