My speed is almost back to normal now at 2:30am
By afternoon, it will slow down, again. Doesn't look like technical issues to me anymore. |

QUOTE(babycookie @ Jun 15 2011, 08:01 AM) Sigh, I also don't know what to think at the moment. I just hope its not another attempt to throttle our speed.Remember last time there was once they slow down international bandwidth, they claim to be trying to control bandwidth during peak hours, so called fair use and those crap. After everyone complained, they took it off and say they will improve the system next time |

QUOTE(MX510 @ Jun 23 2011, 07:40 PM) I assume that at the moment, they are manipulating the traffic for some reason?I notice this morning that at times, my download speed will reach maximum, before suddenly dropping again. It doesn't look like the drop in speed is due to bandwidth congestion itself. |

Same here
On the router it still shows Downstream as 2047kbps.... but the speed I'm getting is 1M only They seems to cap it at a higher level now. so regardless of what your local port is cap at, or technician accidentally set at higher speed, everyone is now cap |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Jul 16 2011, 08:58 PM) for those that using 1Mbps and complain slow Well obviously there's something wrong there with tmnet's service because 1mbps should not be getting 5-10kbps, thats dial up speed.i really suggest u go upgrade to 4Mbps i dn't know which factor that makes it fast...i think it's probably the modulation...4Mbps using ADSL 2+ i compared my 4Mbps with my uncles 1Mbps...same area download on file sharing website...same file...the speed is very different my uncle is crawling like 5-10KBPS while my 4MB can go full speed easily opening the same website....his one is so slow...mine opens in seconds only different IP address u got also a factor as well |

Thanks to their new policy of capping with a crappy technique, I'm experiencing lots of ping time out if I'm downloading something that reach the limit... See this is the difference between a hard limit and trying to shape the bandwidth.
With a hard limit, its as fast as the line is set to be, but no data is being dropped. But with bandwidth shaping, they start dropping data or whatever and so the line becomes unreliable. Tmnet needs to pull their head out of their rectum and start thinking with it. Stupid SOB |

Updating windows, I could see the speed actually spike up to 1.8mbps and then it gets drop down to 0 again and it keeps repeating. This really sucks if they tries to limit us to 1mbps by simply dropping the data stream like that, because when I'm downloading something, I can't even open local site like lowyat forum as data gets randomly dropped. What kind of BS throtting is this
