Welcome to LYN Tennis Thread v11

This thread is intended first and foremost for people to share and discuss about our favourite game - "TENNIS" and secondly to make new friends and to have fun on the court. Feel free to ask some of our resident sifus here on tennis equipments (racquets, strings, customizations), tennis techniques, great deals and places to play. Would love to have more active members posting their experiences and sharing their thoughts. Mostly let's keep this thread clean and try to STICK to tennis related talks though sometimes we can always have some fun jousting and poking at each other smile.gif

<quote>Hey redheart, how to you book the courts in kompleks sukan negara? Indoor or outdoor? How much n hour??</quote>

usually we don't book the court as i see that it is not a famous game like badminton which have to book earlier or else it will fully booked... this kompleks sukan have two outdoor court... (i'm also trying to look an indoor court nearby but not yet find... duta court is quite far from my place...) ... most of the time the court is empty so we don't really book the court... we just simply come and straight away go to counter and pay...the counter open until 9.30 pm or 10 pm i think... it costs RM15 per hour at night... at evening is more cheaper but i'm not sure the costs as we usually play at night...

yesterday also i played tennis with my friends... we play double... but i was really disappointed coz along the game, only once i get success in my serve... the rest all failured... what a beginner!!! lol...

don't be dishearten bro....every one was a beginner in their life, just be more hard working when you practice, ask for tips when you can, be open minded when people make some criticism....and most important, have fun on the court!

Wow, cool! Can i join you guys one of these days?

As for serves during game, just put the ball into play in whatever way possible to get the game going, even if it ends up being blasted in the return of serve. Let the opponent get the chance to have unforced errors too!

Develop your serves in practice. It helps to get a coach to identify and rectify your error as well.. but before you go train on your 210kmh+ first serve, train for a reliable second serve first so you always have a good serve to fall back on.

My Observation

Last two days I went to Bukit Raja, to Royal Sporting House (RSH)… my purpose is to window shopping on tennis racquet… from Babolat site, I can see that RSH is the only distributor in Malaysia… I just wanna share what I see there…

Babolat AeroPro Drive GT (Rafael Nadal's racquet of choice)… Price RM799… buy string and get Free string installation… installation takes one day…
Babolat Pure Drive GT Racquets (Li Na’s racquet of choice)… Price RM699… buy string and get Free installation…

I compare with TW...
Babolat AeroPro Drive GT... PriceUSD189
Babolat Pure Drive GT Racquets... PriceUSD185

One of my friend already bought two times from TW payment via paypal... the first one he bought Wilson BLX Tidal Wave Strung Demo… Price USD59.95… the second one he bought Head racquet ( I don’t notice what model)… he took Express Mail for shipping cost him USD37… but the racquet arrived in about 4 to 5 days only…

So,
Babolat AeroPro Drive GT... Price USD189 + USD37 = USD226
Babolat Pure Drive GT Racquets... Price USD185 + USD37 = USD222

Shipping Rate To Malaysia for TW
World Mail... $7.507... Delivery 3-6 weeks, maybe longer... No tracking available.
FedEx International Economy... $33.006... Delivery in 5 business days.
Express Mail... $37.006... Express Mail - Lane 6 - Delivery 7-10 days.
FedEx Int Priority... $43.006... Delivery 3-5 business days.

Convert to RM,
Babolat AeroPro Drive GT... Price RM680.60 thumbup.gif
Babolat Pure Drive GT Racquets... Price RM668.55 cry.gif

I had been told by RSH representative, they’ll have promotion start from about 15 Jun 2011 and the promotion will lasts for about 2 ½ months.

Babolat AeroPro Drive GT... Discount 10%... Price become RM719.10 cry.gif
Babolat Pure Drive GT Racquets... Discount 10%... Price become RM629.10 thumbup.gif
Babolat Pure Storm GT... Discount 30% (I don’t remember the price)

thumbup.gif Both are original... Made in China... Both got pro and contra... thumbup.gif

Redheart bro,

Nobody here will buy racket at RSH even sales...they r selling at Recommended Retail Price (RRP) and give u some freebies.......

Anyshop above will sell racket at RRP discount 20-30% with free string ard RM30 (top up $$ for pricy string) and get the racket in bout 1hr, few forummers here also sell stuff, pooh88 is one of them....for example, i bought APGT (Nadal) for Kevin at RM570 early this yr with string....

as u r playing in Bkt Jalil, i think Samsports in Tmn U Serdang (next to JPN serdang) and Hock Eng Bangi will closer to u....

Agreed with above. i think it would be better if you to go to topper in ampang, the boss sometimes have offer for babolat rackets, and i heard from some that he offers demo for a price. Second would be hock eng in bangi but it's kinda far if you're staying in KL.

Btw congrats on v11 smile.gif

Bro before you make a decision , please make sure you can DEMO a racket, if you can join a hitting session with our regulars here, they are certain to oblige you a few mins of demoing provided you don't go for low shots and scratch their rackets by accident....if you want to purchase a tennis racket , do what TK said look at the list of shops and call them up and ask for their best price, if you're in the shop itself, it wouldn't hurt to ask the shop owner.

I am abit confused.....'clearing out old APDGT' is there a newer model out?! Or do you mean APDC?
IF APDGT = Aero Pro Drive GT for RM350, I would buy just to try....if APDC=Aero Pro Drive Cortex....then I have tried it before, ok I guess....

RJ Kipas, like me try to copy u..... as i m waiting my volkl pb10 lite coming, i read some forums on tttw....but can only find pb10mid (93sq in)....... they were saying k90tour was the best vs blx90, and pb10mid is as good as k90tour......

so Rj Kipas, start burning ur mind with volkl OK?  hehhehe
*
Mega paiseh TK....I am small fry lah....onli know how to kipas onli.....for rackets its very subjective, like women, I see Ana I go 'BOING'..........I see Maria....I go "MEH"........but depend lah lol....ok first off, I have ZERO experience with Vokl rackets, I for sure cannot offer you 'blind advice'. Regarding your comment K6.1 tour is better than BLX6.1 tour, I, myself prefer the K6.1 tour as it has more 'raw' feel, if you like the 'muted' feel than the BLX6.1 is more geared towards you. I can play quite well with the BLX6.1tour, but its not what I call my ideal stick when I need some 'touc', or 'deception' in my shots.

If you're asking me if the PB10mid is as good as a k6.1 , I do not have know, as I have never tried the PB10mid, however if you want something as good as the K6.1 , might as well buy the stick itself. Same case with 'Head' rackets, some prefer Radicals and some the Prestige models, but once you improve in your shot making or strokes, I tend to notice, IF they switch to a more control oriented stick, say Head rackets for example, alot of people will switch from Radicals to Prestige series......its just my observation, its not a guaranteed fact.If you feel more comfortable with a stick use it to the best of your abilities, if you improve, and feel the need to change to another stick, go ahead, but be prepared for some type of tweaking, if not just use your regular stick.

Some people have said I play better if I use this XXX stick, but if I use YYY stick for serve , I really can hit wonders with it for serve, but with WWW stick my forehand like Federer, I destroyed them when they hit to my forehand, but using BBB stick my slice so low, winner everytime....how?:-p

*
Well I rotate sticks, depending on who I am playing against, and what type of style they, play or what I am in the mood to do....lol
From my own database when I was experimenting with tennis strings,I can safely say Signum Pro Tornado is a very good poly, not stiff for the arm, has very adequate spin, good tension stability , and when I used it in a K6.1 at 45-48lbs, it played well for almost a whole month, I clocked easily over 38-45 hours with this string. (Calculated at 2 hours a day almost 6 days a week for a whole month.)

Well the string that I found that plays quite well as Tornado would be Hyperion, but Hyperion is not a textured string but it plays almost the same as Tornado, for something lower Signum Pro Poly Plasma (orange) plays very well as well, its relatively cheap, OUTSTANDING tension maintenance. If you want other brands, Tecnifibre's Black Code can play like Tornado, feels abit 'stiffer', so string slightly lower? If you like TF's Black Code, you should like Dunlops Black Widow, Black Widow is really soft, this is the one string I string slightly higher than 48lbs, this string I string 50lbs.....also though I have not tried this string yet Pro Supex Blue Gear Ultra, I have used extensively the earlier version ,Pro Supex Blue Gear, Pro Supex makes incredible quality strings, if you can get them locally and I know you can from bro 'inv' he can sell you a set and even string the racket for you, just PM him for his rate's.

All in all strings are mostly trial and error. Sometimes you like the string but hate the tension...or you can love the string and love the tension <3
Have fun!

Long time no see Sophi <3 hope things are well!
Me and pooh tak ngam one, if got chance to 'cucuk' him, must do it! Bwhahahah

Regarding Black Widow I bought a reel, so far its very good, depending on what you are looking for, here is a general idea:

I HATE to say that if you don't have proper strokes yet, though it may help, you won't exactly see a huge difference in your game, if you are 3.5-5.0.....you will see a pretty good improvement in top/under/side/spin .

Spin:8/10
Comfort:9.5/10
Tension Maintenance:8/10
Durability:7/10

I normally string my rackets at 45-48lbs, but with Black Widow I upped it a slight notch at a whopping 50lbs....the above is my own opinion and observation if you string your rackets slightly higher, feel free to add 1-2lbs, based on your preference.

Hmm, it seems that most ppl string their poly in the region of 45 to 53lbs, except for a few. I'm using a hybrid of ultimatum spin n syn gut at 58lbs on my exo3 tour. Plays a lot better than maxim touch at 53lbs.

I very rarely break strings except on mishits, I normally cut the strings after 2-3 weeks after use, irregardless if they break or not, I prefer a fresh string job to dead poly......

Like I mentioned before, string preference is very subjective.....I like it at 42-48lbs, as I feel with polys, lower tension equates more spin, always good against net rushers....doesn't mean it works for me, will work well for everyone....

Isn't that like synthetic grass, where they sprinkle sand on it, balls should skid low and be very fast.....good for serve and volleyer's :-p Indoor some more, no sun :-D

There has to be a reason they put the sand there.
I think it's to slow the surface down as carpet is a very fast surface.
Slowing it down caters for more players.
Also can learn abit of a slide too.

Just finish playing with the Clearwater team. We got thrashed 8-1 overall.
I played with a ex national and another very good young club player. We got thrashed 8-1. Haha. It was fun playing with such very good players. Most of the players are senior players. It was a very fun experience overall. smile.gif

Just one generation then pack up already??
But from the racquet design and no sponsored pro using it, it's doomed.

One generation, I think you mis-spoke, Adidas brand for tennis rackets has been around for a while, especially during the late 70's to late 90's, though not hugely popular in the American/Asian market, they were popular with the Europeans ie Lendl,Becker (yes Becker was using a Adidas racket before Puma.)

About the photos, the only people I can say for sure I recognise are CK with red shirt, with peace sign.(and another at the net doing a backhand volley?)..and the other is our CTO champion Daang....others cannot see much detail lah

Is the Sandakan Tennis Club at mile 2 near the bus station, right? However last time I was in Sandakan tried searching for it, I couldn't find it. x-p I think the inter affiliate tournament just took place a few weeks ago and SAGA just ended , and your team won from Sandakan..

It's damn cheap indeed. But too bad that most of us can't attend the weekday matches without taking leave from work.

Aiya, made flight reservation to bkk last year BUT its just a few days after the finals. Grrr.... next time must look at the atp schedule first..

Criteria for newbie racket, less than 300g, preferably not head heavy, at least 98 sqin headsize.

those new dunlop biomimetics sure look pretty good.. they have i think 2-3 frames that match your criteria...

I personally like wilson and prince frames though... that's just me...

those 2 wilsons seem to match your criteria though... try it! remember to demo first!

Helo! I've been playing tennis on and off but thinking of starting again since my friend is interested and we're both newbies XD;; So far I've only been rallying with the wall (sad life I know...)

I'm interested in getting a new racket since all the while I've been using one with the grip a bit too large. And since I know nuts about rackets, any sport store with the owner being able to provide recommendations?

hey gmorgue ,

my friends just went n play there today so i will check with them on the condition of the courts.. smile.gif .. they kept asking me to enquire via phone to book the courts..

Added on June 15, 2011, 5:27 pmhi amuletSpade,

May I know where are you located? if in KL, u can go to topper sports, sportprises or tennistown.. all these shops owners can help you to find a good racket. We here in this forum can also recommend to you some good deals on rackets if we know your requirements . Normally find a light racket < 280g and a bigger headsize > 100 sq inch to start off as it would be easier for you to develop your strokes.

If you're in KL, just drop by at topper sports or Ultimate Sports, they have good deals there... even in Pertama Komplex they have 1-2 shops on the first floor that gives good deals in both strings and racquets... but I regularly visit Topper Sports and Ultimate Sports instead... I even have their cards... I'll scan them and see if it'll help anyone

Attached Image Attached Image
These 2 pictures are for ULTIMATE SPORTS

Attached Image Attached Image
These are for TOPPER SPORTS...

Well, just hoping it'll help maybe those who need to know more details..

I am using currently 3 Wilson K6.1 95.s with added +-20grammes, which totals it to about 330 grammes, the weight was added to the bottom of the handle... I have been using Ashaway Crossfire Strings pulled to 54lbs-58lbs all my life and I don't think I've transitioned very well with any other strings....

I've tried:
Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour @ 56lbs
Technifibre Red code @56lbs
Technifibre Black Code @56lbs
Luxilon BB Alu Power Rough @55lbs
Luxilon BB Original @55lbs
Dunlop Synthetic Gut @60lbs

but I've never gotten used to these polyester strings... I've been tempted to try the Wilson Pro Champion's Choice and Natural Gut.... but $$$$$$ kept me back... tongue.gif

All 3 racquets currently strung with Ashaway Crossfire 17 at 54-58lbs.

I used to use Wilson Hyper Hammer 6.5 (the one Serena Williams used to have)

and was a steady Prince Triple Threat Scream (the yellow one) for many-many years before making a switch to the Wilson K6.1 95s....

If you wanna date back during the days when I just started.... hehehehe (ahhhh... the good ol' days when I was 9 years old) it was a Rossignol (can't remember the model honestly) and Head Aluminium Racquet...

hehehe... don't ask me about the string setup for those though...

you?

I am currently using a prostaff 6.0 95 chiao ta 16x18 version, my backup is a tecnifibre tfight 320 vo2max and head microgel prestige MP. All stock frames and not leaded up.. My string setup is always full poly, Redcode is my fav string followed by other polys like volkl cyclone, pacific polyforce, prosupex's , topspin's.

These 2 pictures are for ULTIMATE SPORTS

Started out using crossfire 2 but now have gone for more cheaper and durable strings.

My first racket i bought was like around 5 years ago which was a 2nd hand iRadical OS .. Then about 3 years back i bought my first brand new racket the wilson Kblade MP .

- Prince tt warrior MP
- volkl quantum 10 tour (still keeping)
- dunlop aerogel 200 (still keeping)
- Head microgel prestige MP  (still keeping)
- Head youtek speed MP 18x20 (just bought cos it was on sale for 75 usd)

Some classic racket i am collecting (started this yr)

- Wilson jack kramer autograph
- prostaff classic 6.1 95
- prostaff 6.0 95

1. WOw... after trying all those frames, which one was the best for you? the classic 6.1 95 still? nothing beats the old pro staffs eh?

2. speaking of the classics, any luck with collecting those st. vincent 85's? hehehe.. they sell for quite a bomber price in those forums in TT.

3. I used to demo a couple of racquets before buying i.e:
- Babolat Pure Drive Standard
- Babolat Aerodrive Pro Cortex
- Head Radical Microgel
- Head Prestige Microgel
- Dunlop aerogel 200/300 and Dunlop 4G 200
- Prince O3 Shark/Blue/Tour (I nearly went for the Prince o3 Tour)
- Wilson k6.1 Tour
- Wilson Kblade Tour

but finally went for the k6.1 95. don't know why but that frame just made me hit the ball more freely

@k3vin82

I've asked that many years back before. I know the price is absurd but the proshop doesn't see the need to follow the living timezone of racquets outside. Even members aren't given any discount for these racquets. I think cause they do not plan to rotate out these backdated sticks with new ones and that's why they've stuck to the original price for that long. I was interested myself to purchase those sticks but fell short because of their quotation.

tongue.gif If I could have convinced them otherwise, those sticks would have been inside my bag already... ehehehe

I'm quite sure even Topper sports and Ultimate Sports don't have such specific replacements... they don't even have bumper guards and replacement grommets. You'll have to get it in ebay or tenniswarehouse

Seeking advice for those who r using hybrid or whoever knows this. I read from tw that when stringing hybrid, the string on main determine d hitting feel.

Personally I like crispy feel, but I got more feel when strung poly on main rather multi on main. I tried few times with same racket and same strings. Just alternating d main n cross combo. I definitely feel more lively n ball impact with poly on main. This is totally opposite with tw statement. Am I wrong?!?!

I have only tried hybrid with poly as mains and syn gut as cross. The soft syn gut helps dampened the stiff poly somewhat.

putting mains with multis don't necessarily mean it will lead to better feel of the ball. many claim they feel the polys give them a crisp feeling too. plus, some multis do feel deader compared to the softer polys.... one thing that is highly recommeded though is putting polys in the mains to increase the string's lifespan by a lot... cause the main strings are the ones getting a lot of friction...

whatever you seem best for your game is best. not 100% what TW says

damn man... it's like USD145 right? i don't think my game will suit such a small frame anyway... i'm sure it'll feel solid on the serves and volleys with such a small and thin beamed frame... post your reviews the moment you get some solid hitting time with em... and of course... PICTURES!!!

when i do get to singapore, i'll surely tell you guys to hook up for a tennis game dudes...

I think the classic racquet survey is just to see which racquet is more popular and possibly TW might work to with mfgr if they can reproduce those models.

One racquet I'd like to see a comeback is the Yonex RDX500.

unfortunately there was only one time i played a prostaff 85.... i had noooo idea if it was a china or st. vincy made one... i just remember it's explosions on the serves and it was damn tiring to hit with...

but nothing beats my experience playing with the wilson t2000... that thing was such a beast to hit.... so deadly when hit at the centre... the strings were sorta dead but i cannot imagine myself swinging with that racquet for even 30 mins through a regular set

Took my old HEAD i radical OS (Agassi's 2003 season racquet of choice) out to change the replacement grip and hit awhile on the wall.
Man I feel this is a really good stick. I can't miss this this baby. Good control & nice power. Not demanding as it's rather light compared to the radical's predecessors.
Will be keeping this classic ; )

unforunately all the lead tape that i found was the small wilson ones and not the long grey leads that are more flexible to apply on. those wilson ones come off too easily... tried asking both topper and ultimate sports.. tarak.

@tiangkim

yup. connors' wilson. my friend who has that t2000 still keeps it in very good condition... probably 8++ condition

OK, we will start The Championships today at SW19. It is never be so competitive as the top 4 are all gear up to start to challenge the title....

Nadal: Defending champ, world and seed 1. In good form as he went to 6 finals this year having win the Monte Carlo and RG... the four finals lost to winning mad djoker...

Djokovic: 41 unbeaten run this year, reigning OZ Champs, 6 titles this year and counting.... Beat d beast 4 times in a row which no one ever done....

Federer: He is playing at 'HOME'.... His form is yo-yo with ups and down... but that was his form last couple year... maybe due to age and others improve all along... but he ended Djoker's streak and played really good in RG....

Murray: Won the Queen... Can he continue the form and be the first British to win the 'Pineapple' in 150 Thousand Years?!

Ok.... too much craps who knows Berdy, Sordeling, Roddick can make surprise??!!

And dont forget Isner-Mahut rematch... hope they can play on center court.........

Uh very hard to say wait till its quarter finals and semi finals then can make a better accurate prediction.....I want Nadal to win, each step he comes closer to Federer's 16 GS majors its already a huge impact on the sport.Federer's 16 majors looks very far.....Nadal has to win Wimbledon and this years US Open to have real shot to overhaul Federer's GS haul......the way/style Rafa is using is extremely taxing on the body......I don't think he can do major damage to Fed's GS after age 26.......he has to do it now and next year......maybe he can win Roland Garros again after 2012.....but I dunno.....

I dunno what French Open you were watching....effortless!!?! Nadal himself says this years French Open has been the hardest one to win......if they had used back Dunlop balls, then maybe it could of been effortless, with Babolat balls.....arrrrggggghh....Federer played really well, just unlucky not to stick with his winning formula......grass is a total different story....if Novak goes deep he has a shot, infact they ALL have a realistic shot, the outsider for me is Murray, I just don't know how bad his injury is......he may lose early....

Man Prae, if you're saying Babolat balls made it harder for Nadal to win RG, I think Babolat will change their balls next year to suit their golden son!

Surely they won't want to see the RG title goes to a Wilson or Head sponsored rival.

Thats EXACTLY what I am saying, there were alot of complains from the players...about this ball, feel free to goggle it....the only person I didn't see complaining is Nadal, why?????? It simple he is sponsored by Babolat, you don't bite the hand that feeds you....during the clay court season the balls that were being used was from Dunlop, leading up to the French Open, then at the French Open they introduced these new balls from Babolat, btw Babolat will be the official ball from 2011-2015.....if Nadal doesnt play well with the ball, he can kiss that trophy goodbye!

I feel that TMF is actually playing very well seeing that he is not in his prime anymore.

... but can he win Wimbledon?

Bjorn Borg posted in TENNIS.com saying that he picks TMF but I feel that what he said before this was more important... he said that the only people who can win wimbledon are the top four players now.

I agree to that. In fact, if I were to rank them based on who I think would win to who would least likely win, it'll be 1-Nadal, 2-Djokovic, 3-TMF, 4-Murray.

No matter how we feel Nadal is NOT at home compared to Federer in Centre Court, he has shown by far that on his worst days - like how he went down 2-5 in the first set in RG, he can still manage to grind back to win it 7-5. I mean, this is no joke to be able to pummel down TMF in the grandest stage of clay-tennis. In fact, the last time he faced off with TMF in the finals, he has shown the quality of tennis (his net game has drastically improved) suitable to that of today's slower grass in Centre Court.

My Predictions: Fed-Nadal final, Nadal in 4 sets if he wins the first set. Nadal in 5 if Federer wins the first set.

If Federer were to win, he MUST win the first 2 sets. I don't see him digging enough motivation in him to battle a 5 setter or coming back from 2 sets down to win an epic 5.

Unfortunately.... cause I would love to see him win another Wimby

i think he did.... for the first 5 months, he did. in fact... i think he will. he's only lost one match thus far. no boo hoos from him for sure.

just that on wimbledon's centre court, TMF and nadal just can't be excluded from the picture

kev

i think the media has been quite unfair to the joker. i mean, his streak has been quite record breaking... it was like the moment he lost to federer, his hype just disappeared. immediately peoplewere reverting back to the TMF & Nadal bickering... i mean... like this WHOLE half-year he lost only 1 match man... that's like superb for any legend or player alive. but now, here anything about him? nope... still talks about "does fed still have what it takes to win wimby" or "will nadal take both rg and wimby again?".. where's the novak article?

you make an excellent point. in fact, nadal always sorta phases out a bit at the end of the year... that's been an ongoing trend of his... but i would find it hard pressed to rule him out of any tournament these days. unless he claims his knees are bothering him again

true. in fact, once they started pulling out streak records... i cannot imagine the amount of pressure he had to break all those records.

davy always doesn't shine in wimby...he always performs in hard court tourneys.... i would think that he would do well on all surfaces because of his consistency... but he's just not penetrating enough for grass...

ya true, he also doesnt do really well in grand slams ... he usually plays very well in indoor hard courts.. but since his return from injury and change of rackets , looks like his form is not back to before already

inv, nope still down under. not too bad, getting settled down. i like the fact that you're not penalised driving big cc cars here... rclxms.gif but tennis equipment here is awful...

i'll be making a short trip back sometime next mth, so when i saw the "kblade for 200" post, i thought it might be a good chance to buy.

Hello there! Great to "meet" you guys with a similar interest.
I notice there are people on this thread who meet up and play. I stumbled upon this forum because I was looking for people to play with.
You could say I'm new to this thread, but not exactly new to the game.
Used to play more regularly, but since i started work in KL have stopped for a couple of years.
Can't find people to play with here and I'm looking forward to a chance of that happening though.

And since there was some conversation about rackets earlier, been looking for a Dunlop Aerogel 4D 200.
Can't seem to find it in the shops here, I notice only Tom Satchman has it...

Sportprises 79 ( Bangsar TMC, KL)

I think user lelucky also has a good lobang for Dunlop rackets, can't hurt to ask him as well.

hewitt is the first counter puncher to win wimby.... he runs like a rabbit and is like a wall/machine... return every damn ball back to his opponent.... this requires lotta energy and stamina.......

as he is getting older... he needs to cut down the match time... play more high risk, more aggresive game....which unfortunately not his winning strategy... and perhaps due to his stamina and physical consuming, these cause his high body ware and tare,,,, ie...injuries....

i would give most of the credit to the exo3. the balance of the racket really suits my serve.

after last night, my right arm koyak.. haha... very taxing to an injured arm..

Will do it Tmr.... Jaga anak tidur now....

Hit with it today... Maybe due to low stiffness 62ra, feel a little spounchy when ball contact.... Sweet Spot is little small to my expectation....Power is less than bio300 n 6.1team..control better than bio300 same like 6.1team

Other than that, I like d racket a lot, good control, got d ball feel when hitting, more pop on my serve. Very comfortable 19mm thin beam, my favorite bumblebee pj... Fh n bh spin not an issue with d dense string pattern.... Volley very menu due to hl.....got both strung with volky multi, next round will hybrid with luxilon adrenaline....

Added on June 24, 2011, 10:25 pmSince most kaki here like poly, I m wondering y no one like luxilon considering it is d most popular poly?!?!

Isn't black code bout same like luxilon?

@kev, how's d poly multi? Same like nylon? Or like hybrid? Will d string move around?

tk,

The tecnifibre xcode u mean.. this string needs break in time.. starting it didnt feel too nice but then after 1-2 sessions with it the feel is very nice.. its feels more like a hybrid setup.. when it frays.. i love the it cos it gets alot of bite to the ball... but sadly its a very pricey string.. haha.. so i wont be using em... the strings move around a little but not like full multi's.. Tecnifibre gonna release a new string rough code.. haha.. what a name ...coming soon in sept, '11.. its red in colour and textured like alu rough . So waiting to try that one next time..

Added on June 25, 2011, 12:31 amya very true.. i never bought a luxilon b4.. hehe.. even RPM blast also is very expensive.. 25 sgd they are selling in sg..
the shop said RPM breaks quite easily.. he showed me 2 sets that broke during stringing .. so pretty strange for a poly that snaps so easily...

Luxilon is a top tier string, they are the FIRST to introduce poly strings to the world.....the person who they credit their popularity is Guga Kuerten, who won the French Open with this string, I have included some links:

http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages...1899876,00.html

http://www.tennis.com/articles/templates/g...=3035&zoneid=24

If you $$$$ for sure Luxilon will benefit your game, once you found your 'tension'...but Luxilon playability is very short lived, hence newer polys have better, or longer playability, shell life, etc.

i find hybrid set up gives the most bang for the buck.

+
strings don't move.
cheaper, especially if you pair it with cheap syn gut
plays soft
durable (depending on set up)

can't think of any..

i enjoyed hitting with it lah .. but i must say it requires a bit more effort and strength to wield it... esp for those last minute flick shots.. feel a bit tiring after awhile... since the moment i traded all my syn strings to a few of our fellow members.. i've been back on poly. and found my old luv .. the apdgt still is a remarkable racq... v versatile and with poly just awesome on the kick.... hated it when it was strung with synthetic... but now found the perfect blend for it...

neway might get rid of my igspeed n get sharapova's new ig when it's avail...

Yeah, APDGT is really a good racquet.
Spin is good, power and control is adequate.

again rafa need to won this grand slam to retain his No.1 ranking.

Current Point:
rafa: 12070 (defend 2000pts)
djokovic: 12005 (defend 720pts)

however if djokovic win at semi final enough to boot rafa from No.1 ranking despite of rafa won in final.

So basically, Djoko will only need to reach the finals to get the no.1 spot. Sounds like a plan.

I'm still very much a beginner and m looking forward to taking up the sport =)
Please recommend me a good coach.

If possible, please provide his/her name, number and place of training.

Thanks loads =)

Hi byteen, you can go to KTKP, opposite stadium Sulaiman.
Got 2 coaches there.

Chow Chin Chuan coaches Monday & Tues.
Classes are more intensive as usually he coaches 1 on 1 or 2.
Former national player where he can take down almost anyone around Klang with his relax mode.
Think classes should be pricier as groups are smaller.

Mr. Lee coaches on Thurs & Fri.
Groups are larger like around 10 person.
More fun to learn as a group.
Surely cheaper but should be good enough for a beginner.

You can check them out there around 8pm.

btw, Syed Mohsein, Kenji Yong and another one is coaching beginning next month, unless I'm mistaken. Same place.

Wow Tomic is coming of age.
In the quarters.
But the best win of all is to Mardy.
This guy is always very talented.
Can see from his play. More talent than Andy Roddick.
Maybe it's his mental strength and dedication that isn't so good.
Now that he's matured much more, he's in the quarters of Wimby.

I think this racquet has become a rarity. You could maybe still try Berjaya Times Square. In a sports shop either at the 3rd of 4th Floor.

But if you're looking for the KPS88, Topper still has quite a few of them.

4-5 yrs ago, my friend said she met him at Bkt Kiara Club (d one hosting WTA Msia). He told my friend he is working in somewhere like US....

During adam time was the golden era for Msia men tennis.... he gets well with LTAM, but unfortunately Selvam didn't... they were in d same era.....how pity we could not have the best players played for jalur gemilang at the same time....... dont know is whose fault...... each party pointed finger to each (selvan vs LTAM).....

and i met Jeffrey Ong d ex-national swimmer on the same court too.... he is in mass media in UK or sth like tht......

Well, the Youtek Innegra Instinct is out for pre-sale. Paintjob looks very Tron-like. And specs look like a very stiff racquet.

the design quite nice. the tfight series i saw the pj's last week also but not really nice.. very simple red and black combination with big fonts. the 320 is not out yet.. but sadly technology is still vo2max and they added in silicone in the handle .. thats all .. no new tech ..

LOL inv nice one.....angel vs inv....battle for kev's rackets!?!! mana kev aigooo...

Regarding Wimbledon....womens line up.

Have anyone of you seen Lisicki serve.....its 125MPH.......that harder than some of the men on the ATP tour......I think she can do it, and I also think Kvitova can do it as well, these 2 I hope will make it to the final......<3

Mens....tonight I am hoping for a upset, I hope Tsonga takes out Roger, so Novak has a decent chance of reaching a Wimbledon final.....

Novak will destroy Tomic, no questions asked, if Tomic gets more than 8 games in 3 sets, I give him some credit.

Nadal Vs Fish.....potentially Fish has the game to give Rafa fits, if Nadal is not 100%....Fish may win this match....could be a five setter....though I see Rafa winning this in 4.

Hmmm Murray vs Lopez, this match depends on the physical aspect on how Lopez is feeling....I think he has the game to beat and create an upset here, he may win in 4-5 sets....

i kind of feel tht djoker always very lucky... example: wimbledon early round till QF he always kena the easy ones... like walk in a park... unlike nadal... he kena del potro then now kena fish who is like roddick last time who got power serves... its like abit unfair... then RG also.. i think djoker got 2 walkovers...

Added on June 29, 2011, 1:40 pmin RG , due to the long break in between , he might have lost the momentum after the long break.. maybe he could've beaten fed if he played the quarters.. hehe

I always wonder why people talk about the Grand Slam draws being easy....

Even the pros themselves NEVER think any round is easy. Even when Roger has defeated the same opponent time and time again, I doubt he says

"aiyah... luckily I meet him. Easy for me."

Imagine if the scene were to change, and it's a gladiator arena. You think the mighty gladiator champion will go easy against a lesser opponent? He will DIE! he will try to beat him up as soon as possible or not the lesser opponent who is fighting for his dear life is going to take EVERY SINGLE opportunity to kill him. Take this analogy to the courts, and you'll realise how dangerous unranked (so called worse) players actually are. Nothing to lose, coming in guns a blazing....

They MAKE it look easy when in fact, I personally don't think NON of the matches are easy or easier~

If they could actually make it to like the 3rd or 4th round of WIMBLEDON~ are they some chump who you can pass off as fish food? NOOOOO!!!!

Absolutely agree with you.. it looks easy on score but the level of concentration and effort to win those matches are no easy tasks.. thats why we see upsets here n there sometimes but for the big 3 now they're quite brilliant and its very tough to compete against em.

Well for me, Federer, Djokovic has had a easy draw for this Wimbledon, my definition of easy is they have not met a top 15 player yet, though Federer has met Nalbandian who was a former top 5 player, but with injury and fitness issues, he is no longer a threat to the top 4.

These guys are pros, when they make it look easy, its coz they have done this in practise, million of times. If you see an upset, tonight, infact I am going for a Tsonga and Lopez win. Even if they lose , I hope they give Federer and Murray a tough time, I am hoping for a Wimbledon classic, a tough 4 hour match.....I hope, if not guess, they were too good for their opponents.....

ic... if your definition of that is ranking based, then it's even MORE fair because they split up the top 32 ranked players so that they will never meet until at least the 4th round. if someone other than the top 32 players made it means they have defeated one of the top 32 players. that is in almost all tournaments. tournaments like masters 1000 will at least split the top 10 players. so, all will get the same ranked players distribution.
