I am not sure if Wii U is better than 3DS for you. That one you have to decide.
But we can discuss la base on your preference.  whistling.gif

How many hours do you have time to play daily?
What type of games are you interested in?
More additional info needed, so we can know which one is better for you.

Lol cant even sure how many hours i would have for gaming if i buy it. Having stepped away from gaming quite many years ad and into my 30 of age this year.

Well, i liked fps, shooters and action when i was active gaming back then but even that, i think i no longer fancy them and will not go back xbox and wait for Halo 5.

I sorted out some list of wii u and 3ds games, i would say i can forgo japanese rpgs which are alot on 3ds. I still enjoy looking at platformers titles and zelda im still a fan having played gba and ndsl zelda b4.

Hmm. Imo if Wii U future dev and upcoming game list is promising, it will do me well enough and can play along with my wife too.

If you plan on local multiplayer Wii U is the best when it comes to that. Can even say it's better than PS4/Xbone as well whistling.gif
All the Wii U titles are really good and well polished, you can't go wrong with any of the Nintendo first party games. They are just awesome for me.
If you don't mind in the number of game libraries the Wii U have, then go for it

3DS has a lot of libraries of games but if you wanna play some games with your wife it's not gonna be good tongue.gif Get a Wii U
Both 3DS and Wii U are really good and choosing any of them wouldn't be bad in anyway IMO.

The amount of hours I ask was because if you are super hardcore, there might not be enough games for you on the Wii U. But I could say that Mario Kart 8, and soon the come Smash Bros. will keep you occupied for a long time. Games like Wii Sports Club, Nintendoland, Wii Fit U is gonna be awesome for your family. As well as local multiplayer like Super Mario 3D World, Mario Bros., MK8 and Smash. Wii U would fit the family picture well. But if you gaming alone 3DS is also good with huge libraries to consider.

I let you decide tongue.gif

Thanks much for the help, Rei

Decided to get a Wii U. Now just need to see which package to get or wait for Hyrule Warrior / Bayonetta 2 first.

Checked out Nintendo at E3 2014. The only thing set me back is still support from 3rd party games. And as I read somewhere, after Watch Dogs (which doesntfix for a release date yet), Wii U will undergo next 1-2 years without 3rd party titles, is that true? I remember old Wii used to have considerably enough of 3rd party games. I'm suprised Bayonetta 2 is exclusive for Wii U, I played the first one on X360 and impressed albeit not a DMC player. But I do not think B2 carries much weight in pushing Wii U sales. Nevertheless, if I get a Wii U it's a must buy tongue.gif

It's good to see both Wii U and 3DS both offer online multiplayer now. When it comes to local multiplayer, excuse me if i'm too behind of dates, do you mean split screen? shocking.gif
I had X360 for longest period, followed up by a little NDSL and then Wii but I never really get started on Wii, so I can definitely go back and catch up more than enough of great titles on Wii, which alot of them helped me to trade my X360 for Wii before.

Definitely can't be hardcore player already, but sure miss gaming life you know that feeling right, and hope to have some casual time on it.

Good good. Any choice is good anyway so you can't go wrong.

Those who owns a Wii U mostly doesn't really care that much about 3rd party games though. Because I know most who owns it, usually owns more than 1 console. A PC combo or with a 3DS or PS4 or Vita. Yes 3rd party support are atm to worse i've ever seen. But first party already a lot of games to enjoy, I think it will be fine. Bayonetta 2 exclusive for Wii U because Nintendo help them fund the game. Well I think it helps some get a Wii U. I know some people are gonna get a Wii U because of B2 whistling.gif I'd wait until next year when all the E3 games is release, I think 3rd party support will be a bit strong when all the games comes out.

Most of the games aren't on splitscreen, you play with just one screen with multiple user on it, it's pretty fun really, games like Nintendoland, Mario 3D World, Bros U and Wii U Sports Club, play local multiplater with just one screen. It's really great, and don't forget you can also sometimes play certain games with the gamepad, so there is 2 screens. Also the gamepad provides a different gameplay on gamepad for example on the Bros U and 3D World, those who use the gamepad has something extra, to help those with the normal controllers, whether it's pro controller or wii mote. Pretty awesome, you have to try yourself to believe it whistling.gif Yes you can play Wii games, the thing I like about Wii U is also backwards compatible, I never bought a Wii before, so there are tons of titles to enjoy. Some of the games are really cheap now, while some are quite expensive though, but the libraries is huge, plenty of games to have fun on. I'm sad that most doesn't own a Wii U yet, it's awesome.

If no longer hardcore ok la get a Wii U. Too many games to play this days, no enough time to play them all. So I don't think there will be enough games.
You want cheap deals and a good Nintendo dealer? You ask Kyo, he has the best deal for Nintendo games and console. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showuser=92505

If I'm not mistaken, the Cyberbike was only released for the UK market, and was never sold around Malaysia before.

There has been murmurs that it won't be produced anymore. sad.gif but it may be possible that 2 new Deluxe Set bundles are on their way and could be more tempting (Since it has Super Mario 3D World and either Nintendo Land or Mario Kart 8).

It should hover between RM 1100 to RM 1199. That should be the right range for the Deluxe bundle.

Endured quite a shock recently. The Wii U adapter sparked, and gave off a bunch of smoke while playing Mario Kart 8. Hoping it was the power outlet that caused it, since I switched to another one and it played fine just after. Though I'm a little afraid to turn it on now. Still wondering what happened. ;~;

On a side note: What's everyone doing during the great video game drought? Been playing a lot of the Smash Bros demo myself, and patiently awaiting Hyrule Warriors. :>

Purchased my first ever Nintendo home console from Pbbseller yesterday and received it today! Really surprise for the fast shipment! Took some time seeking for confirmation that the power adapter actually support multi-voltage even though it is labelled 120V. Another thing I noticed is the power adapter is to humongous! It is definitely the largest adapter I ever saw among the consoles (handheld or home) that I owned. Among the games I purchased are Mario Kart 8, The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World, and Super Mario Bros that came with the bundle.

Being a Nintendo 3DS owner for quite some time now, I am very pleased with the neat and simple interface and glad they streamlined it across their game consoles. Kudos for that! This is contrast with PS4 interface which for me, looks quite typical for its modern theme. Did I say I like Nintendo fonts very much? icon_idea.gif Couldn't comment much on the game *yet* because of the system updates that took almost 3 hours now, and counting.... cool2.gif Meanwhile I'm killing time by taking some photos of it biggrin.gif I should have update it directly from the Mario Kart 8 game that came with 4.1.0. Even if I do that do I still need to have the latest system version in order to access the online features such as multiplay and e-shop? Does it work similarly as 3DS? If so I would be beaten myself for updating it via Internet.

When I look at the photo again, I can't help but noticed that the aesthetic of Nintendo games are so bright and colorful! rclxms.gif

Total ownership cost is around 1.7k. I'm sure it will bring joy among my friends and family altogether.

Hard to find Wii U only without bundle nowadays. Not sure if any seller does sell it.
Most only sell with bundle, either mario one or the zelda wind waker hd. Lucky might still find Mario Kart bundle.
Can ask Kyoyagami https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showuser=92505

my honest advice: If you can't tahan for the Nintendo Land and Super Mario 3D Land bundle, then you can buy the New Super Mario Bros U bundle. The price should be similar.
