It seems that a White Wii U 8GB bundle with....

New Super Mario Bros U
New Super Luigi U

AND THE LEGEND OF ZELDA WINDWAKER HD

is available for RM 1099 it seems. Not bad for 2 games, an expansion and a whole console altogther.

However, it may be an Asian unit. Only because no one in US is selling it at all. It's more then South East Asian sellers are doing it (found another guy in Thailand selling this).

Nice bundle!

On a separate note, just to share my experience with external portable HDD.

Have been trying to use external portable HDD last week, and a lot of forums actually suggesting getting USB Y Cable if you plan to use portable drives. Scouted Low Yat for that cable but none of those shops actually sell those kind of cable. So here's a couple of suggestions,

1. You can use USB2.0 type of HDD, as it's easier to find the USB Y Cable (I got one from those external casing RM19 and it comes with the cable, only thing is it's a Mini USB port), been using an old Sense HDD for the past few days and seems to have no problem running games from the drive. It's actualy 120GB hdd inside.

2. Before doing no 1, I have previously just tried using a Toshiba Canvio USB3.0 drive, managed to move the games over but occasionally they will be error here and there. So I purchase the USB Y Cable (USB3.0 port) from eBay and waiting for the item to arrive, I believe the drive should work with that cable so I will update once I got my hands onto that.

Like to download games because of the existing Digital Deluxe Promo, and minus the hassle of my kids playing with the physical disc. My copy of Nintendo Land and MK8 had their fair share of fingerprints of 4 and 2 year old there, so better to be safe than sorry smile.gif

Now eagerly waiting for the next launch titles like Splatoon and Bayonetta 2, will probably buy it via eShop too.

A good idea would be to use the an individually powered external HDD. But you'll be losing out on another power plug point. So wintzen's method of using both USB ports at the back with a USB Y cable is ok enough.

Because all the HDD needs is actually, sufficient power. Which seems that 1 cable is not suffice for the WiiU.

Yup, you're right. My power plug point is already full to the brim.

Hi if anyone doesn't mind me asking:

Is it possible to actually purchase a Wii U Japan version from retailers in Malaysia? Also will the JP console be functional as I believe it has a lower voltage rating than Malaysia (Japan being 110V). If so, how do we go about lowering the voltage for the console to be functional?

Thanks in advance.

No no. He's going to need a Step Up Converter instead. And yup, it's hard to find Jap WiiUs in Malaysia.

Hey thanks for the replies.

I'll check out on the converters and as a few people about it

As for the Wii U JP console itself, it seems like it will be quite hard to find in Malaysia so I'm planning to get it from Japan directly when I visit there. Do I have to pay additional import duties bringing a console into Malaysia?

Thanks.

Nah. It's pretty ok to find. But depends on where you are going to in Japan itself. Akihabara would be a given. Haha.

You may need to declare it as a personal item. Duty wise, well, if you can throw away the box after purchasing and get a bag for it, then you're ok. laugh.gif

Why not save all the hassle and buy the JPN set Wii U from Playasia?
I think the price is ok.

Looks like Amazon Japan has opened their own Nintendo Digital Store. http://www.amazon.co.jp/b?ie=UTF8&node=3219142051
This means more good deals in the future. I hope Amazon in the US gets it too.
