@un_id really? what can Word do that Pages cannot?

and if you remember, its Microsoft Word. even if Apple wanted to, they cannot build MS Word clones, cos M$ would sue their pants off.

so don't come in with unreasonable expectations smile.gif

Yes, i tried and used it on my ipad. It have limited ability. Similar as DocsToGo. Its nothing to compare with MS word. I dun mean to ask Apple to imitate MS word, but Apple already have office working software such as in MAC pc. I hope Apple can /willing to port it into ipad. But i feels like it unlikely to happen, coz Apple wants ppl to buy their MAC pc too.

I know. But that are not FULL office applications. The apps have limitation ability. On can do simple editing. Its nothing like the Microsoft Office software.
*
I think you can't expect too much. even there is MS Office for iPad or Tablet or Android. It will have limitation ability. Eg : Like Microsoft Office for Windows Phone 7. You can do basic editing. Not much. If you need full features, I think it's better to use Normal PC

you're sometimes more blur and confused than I thought.

its Microsoft Office. nothing to do with Apple. got it? its made by Microsoft, supported by Microsoft & Apple has no say about making an iOS version.

Apple has nothing to with the Microsoft Office for Mac. That's built in Redmond, by Microsoft. got it?
you want MS Office for iPad? contact Steve Ballmer. don't post in a forum in Malaysia, 8000 miles away and something to happen. cos right now, MS considers Apple a competitor, so they will not do anything to make your iPad experience better.

just a reminder guys / gals. iOS 5 is still in beta. that means that even Apple is sure that its for testing only.

if you insist on using it on your daily use iPhone / iPad, remember 3 things.

1. crashes / restarts / reboots are to be expected.
2. battery life may be terrible.
3. you cannot go back to iOS 4. if iOS 5 is finalised n released in September, that means you'll be stuck with a semi-broken iPhone for the next 3 months.

Since u hv said me blur n confused, but i dun think u understand what i mean either. As i said previously, i want a FULL OFFICE APPS, not a Microsoft Office in ipad. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif doh.gif doh.gif iWorks, DocsToGo, Office Mobile, name it! anything.... But currently there is NONE full working apps for document creation/editing etc. on any tablet. I just wish i can hv it on ipad.. Then ipad is so much more worth to have.

and you don't get it either. the only company that can safely build a full Office app is Microsoft. They own the rights. the .doc, ppt & xls formats are *not* open. so anyone else who makes a full Office app will definitely get sued. got that?

go bug Steve Ballmer, CEO, Microsoft. don't waste your time here. your wish is Ballmer's command smile.gif

For those saying iMessage is crap compared to Whatsapp, would really suggest you try it before you comment.

It's honestly so much more quicker than Whatsapp and the level of integration (all in 1 app) is something even BBM users will be envious of!

The major issue with iMessage is that it's not cross-platform...

Apple really needs to look into addressing the time stamp restrictions on the Messages app! Not being able to see the time each message is sent/received without jailbreaking is quite absurd really.

Have been using the iOS5 beta on my iPhone 4 since it was launched and honestly it's not that bad at all. So far only one of my apps can't launch (2Do) and the well-known Wallpaper bug is kind of annoying.

Stability wise, my iPhone has yet to crash on iOS5. Battery life is only very slightly worse.

they already did. pages / numbers / keynote. not an exact port but if u really think abt it, it's impossible to bring an app designed to use with a keyboard + mouse to a device with only a touchscreen.

so even if apple did allow the full iwork suite, or heck, even a full microsoft office on the ipad, u wont want to use it anyway, at least for now.

Are you kidding me? if you want a 'full-office' app, get a netbook or wait for the next 10 years. This is iOS 5 discussion, not I-want-to-rant-cause-no-full-office-app-so-far thread. All other issues here mentioned are of in relation to iOS5 ( Battery life, crashing, restart, auto-off, overheat etc etc).

Yours however is just a rant for a lack of a perfect 'full' office suite application in which could have been made in any other mobile OS too. If your ipad doesn't meet to your expectations, please sell it off. Every things have its limits, it ain't a miracle pad.
*
So?? U r also ranting about battery life, crashing etc. Well as quoted from yr own spill "it ain't a miracle ipad". cool2.gif cool.gif
