I don't have a specific budget, but am thinking of getting a good mouse.. Wireless would be preferable (currently considering mamba)...
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I really love the Logitech G700's micro receiver. I owned a Razer Naga Epic before and I would say the charging dock was not my preference as I use my notebook most of the time (for mobility). That's why I still stick with my Logitech G700 till now smile.gif
*
Yeah, totally agree with the almost non-existent nano receiver.
I'm a long time logitech user and without me realizing it, have been using it since long time ago. My first keyboard is a logitech and it still giving me tactile feedback. Give me no excuse to get a new one... thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

The X8's receiver... believe it or not is a disc which looks very similar to a hockey puck.
*
Yeah, the puck thing also act as storage for the mouse feets.... nod.gif

Personal suggestion : Get Logitech G700. Come with nano receiver, can change between wired and wireless, can use in wired mode without battery. Check Jeffrey1987's G700 unboxing and review videos of the G700 in youtube nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif

I have actually considered the g700, but would like to know, how well the wireless works with that mouse. I heard from reviews that the wireless is quite useless and we are stuck with wired for good gaming experience, which is not something I really want..
And... The idea of AA battery doesn't really attract me as we will need to manually charge em..
But it's still among the mouse that I'm considering at the moment

Edit: is there anywhere I can personally try out the mouse? (namely mamba and g700 in this case)

The G700 looks good. Thanks for the review. I'm still indecisive, juggling between several models. Or maybe I'll just stick to my MX518. laugh.gif

You can set the polling rate to 1000Hz if you want lag free gaming exp. As for battery pack, I do think that the AA batteries are better as if the included rechargeable batteries die then we can simply buy another AA batteries to replace it. Unlike the battery pack such as the one included with the Razer Naga Epic, if something goes wrong then you have to order it from Razer or their official resellers. smile.gif

my polling rate is set to 660hz.
basically in multiples of my monitor refresh rate which is 60hz, so i could also set 720, 780 etc.

and reason why batt packs are used is to reduce weight and size of the mouse.

I'm not really into the compact size gaming mouse though as I'm a palm gripper and bigger mouse is suitable for monkey fingers like me? laugh.gif

you can always buy a pack of 4 AA batteries. Charge all four then, use 2 , swap 2 then charge 2 . Repeating the steps.

So, the response time for g700 is also 1ms(on wifi mode)?
Overall, is this mouse better than mamba? (excluding value factor)
And.. is this mouse good for fps too?
Really considering g700 now.. laugh.gif

Most of the stuffs I bought it for myself and my friends too. Some of them I have returned it back to the resellers if I'm not satisfied with it smile.gif

Of course you can set the polling rate to 1000Hz even it is in wireless mode.

As for comparison between this and Mamba, I can't really tell you as I never use Mamba before.

It should not be a problem to use G700 to play fps biggrin.gif

Actually, you can treat G700 as wired gaming mouse too by taking out the batteries and plugging it the wire. smile.gif
