I don't have a specific budget, but am thinking of getting a good mouse.. Wireless would be preferable (currently considering mamba)...
Any suggestions? Thanks |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jul 26 2011, 12:03 AM) I have actually considered the g700, but would like to know, how well the wireless works with that mouse. I heard from reviews that the wireless is quite useless and we are stuck with wired for good gaming experience, which is not something I really want..And... The idea of AA battery doesn't really attract me as we will need to manually charge em.. But it's still among the mouse that I'm considering at the moment Edit: is there anywhere I can personally try out the mouse? (namely mamba and g700 in this case) This post has been edited by Searingmage: Jul 26 2011, 10:05 AM |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jul 26 2011, 12:13 PM) You can set the polling rate to 1000Hz if you want lag free gaming exp. As for battery pack, I do think that the AA batteries are better as if the included rechargeable batteries die then we can simply buy another AA batteries to replace it. Unlike the battery pack such as the one included with the Razer Naga Epic, if something goes wrong then you have to order it from Razer or their official resellers. So, the response time for g700 is also 1ms(on wifi mode)?Overall, is this mouse better than mamba? (excluding value factor) And.. is this mouse good for fps too? Really considering g700 now.. |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jul 26 2011, 06:50 PM) Most of the stuffs I bought it for myself and my friends too. Some of them I have returned it back to the resellers if I'm not satisfied with it My main concern is its performance during wireless mode. For razer, it promise that wireless and wired mode are equally good.. So, just wondering is that's the case for logitech too...Added on July 26, 2011, 6:52 pm Of course you can set the polling rate to 1000Hz even it is in wireless mode. As for comparison between this and Mamba, I can't really tell you as I never use Mamba before. It should not be a problem to use G700 to play fps Added on July 26, 2011, 6:53 pm Actually, you can treat G700 as wired gaming mouse too by taking out the batteries and plugging it the wire. |

Jeffrey1987, need to confirm one thing about the g700..
Is the performance compromised if I change to wireless mode? (i.e. the performance of wireless = performance or wired?) Thanks.. |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jul 30 2011, 12:31 AM) You can consider the Razer BE DeathAdder I don't really mind battery life (if it can last for a minimum of 4 hours), what I want is performance..Added on July 30, 2011, 12:33 am Not 100% sure if there are any major difference. Basically, just boost up your polling rate if you want lag free exp but bear in mind that it will drain your battery life faster And the reason I want wireless mouse is to be free of cable restrain.. So, while I'm not gaming, I can charge it up, when gaming, change to wireless mode. Just want to make sure that in wireless mode, there is no difference compared to wired mode (or at least the difference is only minimal) |

QUOTE(micdy @ Jul 30 2011, 01:32 PM) I just got myself a G700 after much thoughts... Man.. It feels much better than DA or Ikari Laser to be honest... It just felt right in the hand.. It's build quality is solid and the weight on it is just right for me personally... My problem is, no fre****g shop wants to let me test! ZzzzFor those thinking of getting a wireless gaming mouse, I will definitely recommend the G700. But as always, do go to a shop and have a grab at the mouse first, just in case... |

QUOTE(silentser @ Jul 30 2011, 05:21 PM) yupe, no shop will open up the mouse as demo unit.... all you got to test is the freaking size from out of the box Thanks a lot for the kind offer.. But I think I'll just get it without testing.. Reviews for the mouse seems good and most people here are recommending this mouse.. I don't think I'll regret even I buy it without test.. Haha..if you are near seksyen 13,7 shah alam, subang parade area, you can test mine. Anyways, in your opinion, wired and wireless, performance is the same? (i.e. no compromise in performance when using wireless mode?) That's the final thing I want to know only.. haha.. Just want more people's opinion on this point Anyone else with logitech g700, please express your opinion on the mouse's wireless mode too |

QUOTE(silentser @ Jul 31 2011, 12:55 AM) that is roccat apuri (search for clearer picture to get the whole meaning of the use) , it main thing is not the USB hub but the mouse bungee, i always have problem of the mouse wire falling of the table and then weighing down my mouse, or the wire just in the way of my mouse movement, with that thing you snape the wire on top of it, and it will make sure the wire will not in your mouse way or disturb you in any reason Lol! Wires trouble is the reason I am now opting for G700 @_@UK g700 came with enelope battery when you buy it ( saw it in one of the video in youtube, coincidental the guy is enelope battery freak) , but for some reason malaysia give enetime... so yeah im sure you can charge inside the mouse, will try to charge some other rechargable battery inside it see if it explode |

QUOTE(rave963 @ Jul 31 2011, 01:36 AM) Wire troubles only occurs when gaming, whereby your mouse needs to be free all the time.. So when I'm not gaming, I can just plug the cable it.. So, it's no biggie in my case..Anyone can tell me how long the battery can last if I use 1000mhz polling rate, and max anything else? |

QUOTE(silentser @ Jul 31 2011, 01:55 PM) buy a bungee and you will never have problem wired or not Errr.. no way to make it on always-on mode?will do a test for the battery life now, will put MAX GAMING in power mode, and set POLLING to 1000, MAX GAMING= g700 will sleep when it is not being use to conserve battery, max gaming mode will allow stay awake longer and will wake up from sleep faster. How long before it goes to sleep? This post has been edited by Searingmage: Jul 31 2011, 05:01 PM |

QUOTE(silentser @ Jul 31 2011, 06:19 PM) no idea... but to tell ya the truth, i never fell the mouse sleeping before, even after watching anime (20 minit plus without touching the mouse), when i move it, it always moving, If 20 minutes plus no sleep still okay la.. haha.. What I scared is no touch 10 sec go sleep.. Anything above 5 mins should be perfectly fine.. So, where do you get the info that it will go to sleep even in full gaming mode? Anywhere to check how long it takes before the mouse goes to sleep? Edit: seems like we can dictate the sleep mode time.. It is stated sin logitech website, sleep mode : variable. I thought arctosa is a keyboard? Why you ask in a GAMING MOUSE thread?
Arctosa is just a regular keyboard.. Nice to use though, but very minimal customizations. |

QUOTE(silentser @ Aug 2 2011, 01:20 AM) so far if you are not gaming straight for like 5-6 hours it can really last long, not sure the real time yet, cause, i full charged it at 6.20pm yesterday , gaming for about 3-5 hours not straight la, average 1 hours then stop, and then just normal surfing, watching anime,go to sleep, but still on the gaming profile, and until today it still not fully finish yet, i noticed the led show 1 battery bar left around 5pm today and using it until now still havent finish yet Bought from lingloong..good luck on your mouse, where you bought it from? TIP: my first time charge the battery is lil bit hot dont know it just me or all the mouse like that, and if you want to use wire, make sure your mouse is in ON and not OFF, crazy me got a bit angry at first when i try to use the mouse with wire but cant, but then realize you still need to turn the switch on even on wire, i thought the switch on for wireless EDIT: 1.33 AM, message appear on my screen saying: G700 battery is in critical level Thanks for the tips, but the 1st tip is too late, I tried using it on OFF mode.. Btw, the cable for wired option seems quite short though Hvn't tested it on games yet as I'm still at office but will try as soon as I get back! |
