However, it is kind of sad that many shops are starting to reject AMEX. Out of 10 shops I visit, around 8 shops rejects it.
You need to upgrade yourself to shop at high-end retail shops.... Maybankard 2 Gold and Platinum Cards V2, AMEX with Visa or MasterCard

They are not starting to reject AMEX. It's just that most of them never accept the card to begin with because in their contracts signed with their credit card terminal provider, AMEX is not part of the deal. Anyway, i have no problem using my AMEX at all the places i frequent. As a matter of fact, it is my most heavily used credit card now. Whenever AMEX is not accepted, i'll use my Citibank VISA then |

QUOTE(Esteemed One @ Jun 23 2011, 01:11 PM) Maybe my luck isn't good. There was a shop that actually pasted AMEX on their window but did not accept my AMEX. Either the machine could be faulty or they dont want to pay higher interest rate..Then I serviced my car at a Proton Service Of Excellence center. Initially they did not want to accept my AMEX but I said, please swipe first, if reject only I use another card. Hehe, they let me swipe AMEX. Amex charge interest between 3-5% where as Visa/Master between 1-3%.. That is the reason why some shops doesnt want Amex |

just to inquire if this is normal, I received entries in amex M2u today as follows:
Service Tax-Principal RM50 (debit) Paid service tax RM50 (credit) I tot we were suppose to receive 10k TP? Is this the waiver of RM50 for credit card service tax which is done automatically? |

QUOTE(beyond86 @ Jun 23 2011, 07:23 PM) RM 3200 is the salary of my fren, he claimed that he got RM 4k credit limit for each cards. I earn less 400 than him and during my application I was told that I would get RM 2k credit limit for each card. I just want to be sure whether my friend is BSing me or not( he got a long history of doing so ) Both of us are first time applicants with no previous credit cards. Thanks for feedback btw. |

QUOTE(beyond86 @ Jun 23 2011, 07:23 PM) it is normal. I got the cards 2 months ago via phone invitation without submitting documents. I think they just rely on FD placement.cannot automatically waive. CS confirmed last time that im entitled to 10k TP but till today no sight of it. No B&W to prove my entitlement |
