Hi all..
1) I got letter from lhdn, asking me to present them the original document for home loan interest.. anyway, it doesn't matter what document.. the letter said
"sila kemukakan salinan asal ... bla bla",
but not a single line in the letter mentioning whether I should come to their office, or should I mail it to them..
So, what should I do? go to lhdn? or mail them the document?
2) Another thing is, the letter mentions that I must give (kemukakan) document within 30 days from the date of the letter. But I received the letter 3 weeks after the date on the later.. So, I only got 1 week? and especially, raya holiday is near.. everywhere is holiday already.. should I ignore the timeline?
Tq.

QUOTE(dannyw @ Aug 25 2011, 10:35 AM) I got the letter ask for copy of document too, I 've call them up. They won't spent time to meet us. I believe those claim for Housing Loan Rebate, they will ask for supporting. You may mail the document, or sent it personally to the LHDN branch counter. You're exactly right. It's about the housing loan rebate. They want the proof for it. Thank you guys for all you advices. I've called them up. The person said, by mail also ok, but I better send it by person. and ask me to submit it to the branch that sent out the letter. There're so many nearby branch, but now, I got to go to the far one.. haishhhh..

QUOTE(squareballs @ Aug 27 2011, 04:57 PM) previously I asked about.the huge amount of tax deduction from my hq due my salary increment and was told in the remaining months of 2011 there will be little.deduction. but till now the deduction is quite huge per month.. no problem right? as I can get back the money in next year. better not to have the lhdn keep your money.. You'll get your money, but you're not guaranteed to get it quickly. It can be fast, or it can take a few years..

QUOTE(sughizo @ Nov 3 2011, 03:50 PM) Hi Guys, Just need to ask a question about bank loan queries. I'm quite lost when it comes to taxes and stuff, and i know you require something like a BE form and a tax receipt for bank housing loans. I have been paying my taxes, as i can see from my salary slip that tax has been deducted every month. The tax dept has also confirmed that i have an account open with them. I have my 2010 EA form with me , but how do i get the tax receipt? I don't have any pin number of any sort to login to their website and i'm not sure if i'm even eligible to have the tax receipt since the HR from my company only deducts for the tax, and i have not done anything myself. Thanks in advanced! Go get your pin number from LHDN. The purpose is for you to be able to file your income tax online. That's it. As for the tax receipt for the tax that have been deducted by HR from your salary, you don't need a receipt for that because it will be highlighted in a EA form. EA form is a proof that you've paid certain amount for your income tax. Tax receipt for housing loan? I simply means your housing loan statement that the bank usually mail to your house.

QUOTE(Peter_APIIT @ Dec 3 2011, 08:26 PM) Anyone can provide step by step guide to submit income tax? Thanks for the help. 1) go to lhdn, create your income tax account. 2) ask for your password for e-filing 3) login to lhdn e-filing... start fill in the blanks. In order to do that, you need to have your EA form (given by employer to indicate your annual income, etc). 4) start asking question in this thread when you don't know how to fill on any specific part of the e-fling questionaire.

QUOTE(Peter_APIIT @ Jan 9 2012, 01:58 PM) Hello to all, I have few questions to ask: a) Previously, I worked for company A and deduct tax through PCB but i leave the company after 8 months. Do can reclaim back from the company A and claim from LHDN. Thanks for the help. You can only claim it from LHDN. Another hassle for you is that you got to go back to the company to request the EA form (for the duration of your work). And if you work with a new company, that means, when filing your income tax, you'll use 2 EA forms.. ie: first ea form is statement for your first 8 months of your income with old company. And another EA form will contain the rest of 4 months statement of your income with the new company.

QUOTE(Peter_APIIT @ Jan 10 2012, 10:46 AM) It is not logic to claim from LHDN since the company A is not submitted the tax (PCB) to LHDN. Please advice. as wongmunkeong mentioned, if ur old company has deducted you salary into PCB but the company didn't actually pay it to lhdn, you can start looking for a lawyer's forum and open a thread there

QUOTE(doinkz_gaara @ Jan 3 2014, 05:04 PM) Hey guys, I worked full time from Aug 2011 - June 2013 with a gross salary of RM2700. I remember receiving EA forms, and got my tax number, and does it mean that I have declared my income? No. It means, your previous employer has created a LHDN account for you, so you don't have to go to LHDN yourself to create the account. Creating account and declaring your income are two separate things.I don't remember filing anything to LHDN though. T______T I received a letter once that says that I need to pay RM3XXX, but my then colleague said that the tax has been paid already. So I am really confused. If you don't remember filing the LHDN, most probably you didn't do the filing. So, that's why you get a letter from LHDN, because you didn't do the filing.
Your previous employer may have deducted your salary for income tax, but you still need to do the filing..
And now, I am actually working for a startup based in Singapore, and some occasional freelance here and there but I have no idea how to deal with taxes as I am managing everything myself. D: Should I just go to LDHN and check out my status? To be safe, I suggest you do.. You go to LHDN first, before LHDN goes after you.See my answer in red..
