2000 I think still don't have Windows Mobile yet, in the early years, it's Pocket PC era, the early windows smartphone is running Pocket PC 2002, then comes Windows Mobile 2003, etc.
Talk about PDA, last time use to have debate between PDA (Palm) vs Pocket PC, LoL...

Haha, no; I only know last time there was great debate between PPC vs PDA (Palm); Many people didn't know the difference, they just want to "tok tok tok" (use the stylus and tok the screen; looks cool), so they go get it.

But nowadays, everything is very different already.

My mistake in previous post. I am asking about lock time for Integrated GSP (without AGPS)

All without AGPS....
E Series takes a few minutes
Samsung Galaxy & iPad takes seconds
Now you say N8 also takes a few minutes.

I saw all those with my own eyes so was wondering why such big difference.

I thought iPad uses internet to stream google maps?

You can use 3rd party navigation software that do not require Internet.

Talk only. Nokia Malaysia has no idea when it will become available here.

Yeah I knew only too long forgotten liao lor.. blush.gif so for simplicity just said windows mobile lor which is common till WP7 out mah..haha..My 1st PPC without phone line was a Toshiba dunno what model way back ~ 2001. That time, suprisingly there already a reasonable detail GPS maps of KL dy (Sigh can't remember wthat app liao doh.gif )...I remembered showing to a lost Japanese of the GPS maps without GPS haha (Unless I paired it wth a Ext CF GPS that will cost me a bomb that time!)..and that Japanese so impressed... Than the start of my 1st GPS PPC 2003 - An HP6505 or something & my 1st wth malsingmaps way back 2005/2006. That time I was so dissapointed when I 1st see Puchong maps so many empty spaces in malsingmaps...I took the challenge & within 3-6 mths I covered all those empty spaces in puchong from Puteri, Kinrara, those Kampungs & etc... rclxm9.gif

Well, nowadays so many mappers for this area liao & I can actually retire from tracking & contributing to mappers of malfreemaps liao haha biggrin.gif

Opss abit OT..thereafter from PPC2003, I moved to Winmo 5 (I think wth super expensive ASUS 520) that cost me >RM2300 ~ 2007...By then, I hated Winmo & switch back to Symbian after I found out the availablity of Garmin for Nokia.. rclxms.gif & faster than winmo rclxms.gif

So By Nokia going back to WP7...is like for me going back to the era of pocket PC liao haha..anyway..probably good also as I strongly believe, Garmin can run in WP7 too and the Garmin MXT verison for Winmo do not have the 2 stupid bugs...Too bad the last Garmin MXT for Winmo is V2 & not V5 for Symbian sad.gif

Ha ha. That means UOB know more about product availability than Nokia. Why I know? I called up Nokia care line this morning and they say they don't know shocking.gif

Oh...one more thing. Nokia say the pink N8 do not have Anna preinstalled, contrary to what the web is saying.

Long ago, PPC looks so cool, haha; The first MS Smartphone running PPC OS 2002 (I think), looks so cool; LoL. I attended the one organized by Microsoft Malaysia for developers, when they presented those features, it look so cool, plus the first 640X480 screen PPC, LoL! That time if I'm not wrong, they also promoting the Motorola MPX100.
I prefer the MPX200; Then MPX/MPX300 which look super cool, dual flip technology.

Now... everything not so simple, you need something very interesting and good to impress the public.

Next time, ask Nokia to define the word "soon". To a piece of rock, soon means hundreds of year instead of million. To a butterfly, soon means a few hours. LOL.
