Hi, I just ordered a new N8 to replace my ageing N82.

Is it recommended to use some kind of screen protector and casing for the N8?

Anybody can register?
What's the requirement and need to bring anything?
It just say register through mail, no further information? I suppose the participants have to at least have certain degree of knowledge/experience in programming or specific platform development? Even for total beginner, I suppose there should at least be a minimum requirement?

Plus, No fees involved? What if many people just register, regardless their not from IT background? Is this by invitation?

Simple "Googling", found this:

Maybe you can help the developer design the program, make icons, etc. Application Development also relies a lot of creativity, not just logic. If there's no creativity, the program will be very dull and plain.

It's recommended to use QT SDK 1.1 if you want to develop any application for QT based device (Symbian,Maemo,MeeGo)
As far as I know QT SDK combines creation of UI & programming all in 1 package. So the coding & UI in same time.
Maybe you boss will ask you to design the UI while asking others to do the coding.

Mine is version 1.0 but I have used the updater to update the content I guess. The version shown is still 1.0. But I saw package downloaded includes stuff for Meego. hmm.gif
Do I need to download the whole thing again? It's so huge for offline version.

So did you sell your N82 and for how much?

If not and if it's not worth much money, then it just prove my point and that is, I never bother with casing and screen protection because those things just get in the way of enjoyment. So may as well make the most out of it.

Of course, if you intend to resell your phone after 6 months or so, then better give it some protection. My 2 sen.

havent sold my n82 and probably wont. I just finished peeling off the protective plastic coating i used when i 1st bought it and it looks almost brand new!I like casings/screens as i can remove them later on and get that brand new look even after using the phone for a year or two. i have a habit of putting my phone in my pants side pocket with my car keys so some protection is needed.

N8 supposed to have an unscratchable screen but i kind of doubt it.

I send an inquiry and got a reply from them:
The training workshop is by invitation only and it's meant for app developers or companies currently or intending to develop on the Qt MeeGo platform, and trainees will be required to bring own laptop.

It's not unscratchable, just scratch resistant.

if that's how u use it, my suggestion is die die get a SP... i used it that way also(phone + carkey same pocket) and my screen was slightly scratched already, and no, not unscratched, just very very high scratch resistant
