Just got mine. No reviews on performance of the headset yet as it's still charging. Will just show pictures of the unboxing. smile.gif

The side panels are made of the same material as the casing of the PS3 Slim. The top of the earphones are shiny silverish metal. Nice!

try out

5.1 virtual surround:
MGS4
Heavy Rain
Vanquish

7.1 virtual surround:
Uncharted 2
MAG
Split/Second

some of the games i know that have really good sound.

*test 5.1 and 7.1 to see if there's a difference or if it's a negligible one.
tempted to get one set, but still wondering if it's worth the price-considering it's pretty much as good as PS3 only. Maybe wait for enterprising hackers to get the virtual surround working on pc brows.gif

haha my uncharted 2 is back in malaysia, so i tested with killzone 3 and infamous. the game does sound really good with the virtual surround, especially infamous! biggrin.gif

I can confirm that it works on the PC. And it's plug and play. Windows automatically detects the drivers and installs it, then you can listen already. But again, no virtual surround on PC cause that requires the PS3 firmware.

this is earlier mention by SCEA that virtual 7.1 is only applicable for PS3 game. But hopefully Sony will add in in future firmware update(hopefully lah).

With the whole purpose of the headset to produce a virtual surround effect, and the function is limited only to a PS3 unit while playing games, that makes it rather product specific for a rm265 price.

Bro I think you missed the point. This is a playstation peripheral, and it has been marketed as such from day 1. It's not just a mass market Sony peripheral, therefore I don't think anyone without a playstation will get it. If you're looking for something that goes with everything, then you might as well just settle for something else. smile.gif

now you know why it's so (comparatively) cheap.

Sony's done nothing wrong here, since they've already mentioned in the past that the virtual surround is only applicable to games, and not movies. tongue.gif

agree with u,bro..announcement by Sony is very clear that the virtual surround is only applicable to games..for me, it will help me to play games at night with the headset except for Rock Band la, prefer to play without HS..
