ermmm... imagine it as a 7.1 speaker, but this time it's close to ur ears ^^
*
still doesnt answer the question.
if it's stereo speakers converted to surround, then it's not going to be very good-you wont hear accurate audio positioning

I didnt know CoDBO was a bad game choice to test the sound. Then what game should I use? laugh.gif

And I cannot comment on the mic, cause like I said, I didnt have anyone to chat with. Perhaps someone wanna try with me tonite? laugh.gif

try out

5.1 virtual surround:
MGS4
Heavy Rain
Vanquish

7.1 virtual surround:
Uncharted 2
MAG
Split/Second

some of the games i know that have really good sound.

*test 5.1 and 7.1 to see if there's a difference or if it's a negligible one.
tempted to get one set, but still wondering if it's worth the price-considering it's pretty much as good as PS3 only. Maybe wait for enterprising hackers to get the virtual surround working on pc brows.gif

With the whole purpose of the headset to produce a virtual surround effect, and the function is limited only to a PS3 unit while playing games, that makes it rather product specific for a rm265 price.
*
now you know why it's so (comparatively) cheap.

Sony's done nothing wrong here, since they've already mentioned in the past that the virtual surround is only applicable to games, and not movies. tongue.gif

Ninja posted about media server surround working well.
what about external hard disk media?
i have a few home made movies(Video games live, among other videos) in my external hard disk, recorded in 5.1 surround.

if i can have surround audio from those videos as well, then that'll be the last push for me biggrin.gif

Yeah, surround sounds works fine with video files playback from external HDD/thumbdrive. Those with Netflix/PlayStation Video Store access definitely can also enjoy surround audio with this headset. tongue.gif

haha dont be mean. laugh.gif

but looking back at some of the posts here, i just wanna say people will buy if they think it's value for money. buying a RM300 headset and expecting it to be gold is just ridiculous.
*
not being mean tongue.gif

I just bought this headset 2 day ago but never got a chance to test it on my PS3. Anyhow if I want to use this on my laptop, should pose no problem right? Will I able to get the surround sound if I watch bluray movies using my laptop?

Oh yeah forgot to mention that I'm using a HP Envy 17 laptop btw.
*
nope.
