Normal rom flashes will not wipe data unless you have selected repartition in odin. This has been mentioned several times and yet some others are repeatedly too asking same questions
And this is also always stated in the rom developer thread

wta about customization on android. how far can we go customize it? from theme to apps, shortcut, n etc. Juz like iOS (after jb), u can install tons of 3rd party apps to customize ur phone the way u wan to look like. unless by "root"-ing = jb = 100% customization enable to user

Yes you need to have recovery installed. I must say if one is into rom flashing having a recovery installed is compulsory . The recovery will allow you to have a full backup n restore
You can install chainfire now should be ver 4. I am still using ver 3.7

RM2099 is a very good price in comparison to HTC Sensation's RM2299. They have similar hardware although it's say that HTC has better UI than samsung.

I can concur with rayzy22. Called SME and they said the same thing as well. However on Maxis end, the customer consultant was a bit blur. Maybe the internal memo is not circulated yet.

lightning 1.4 doesn't wipe your setting nor data, villain & cognition will.

done with villian, wiped my data. during my attempt to flash back to stock, stucked at boot screen, had to wipe cache to revive, not the kinda rom i would try again.
the other incident before was when i apply the VRTweak, and lost my status bar after applying tweak.
the "compatibility" aspect was never in the consideration for this rom, i'd stay away from it. (oh, and ugly splash screen too)

am now on lightning 1.4 KF1, will keep.
indeed smoother than the stock KE8 and even villain 1.2. coming from lightning 1.3 KE8, my guess is that it's due to the optimization of the custom rom itself.

the latest in angelo is 4.0.0.2..

was quite disapointed that galaxy s 2 uses tegra 2 or exynos chip instead of other chips, tegra 2 got pwned by other chips such as qualcomm snapdragon n apples a5 chips

a5's powervr is 3-4 times faster than tegra 2 geforce(or the mali chip found in exynos) n snapdragon's adreno 220 is 2 times faster................which means iphone 5 which will hav a5 will still b the most powerful phone when it is released........previously the galaxy s is so much more powerful than iphone4...

a5 > snapdragon > tegra 2.........

mayb samsung use tegra 2 to reduce the cost of the phone as tegra 2 is curently the weakest and cheapest chip curently, dats why the galaxy s 2 is sold at only arnd 1.8-2k..............which is also the same price with lg optimus 2x(which is also using tegra 2) when it was released months ago.......

was quite shocked wif the price since i tot it will gonna cost at least 2.5k...........
