i'm having only clear screen protector.
seen how casing can do damage to the phone chasis due to rubber rubbing against the clear coat and leave marks.. i'm thinking twice of applying casing.

is antivirus even necessary.. on a linux based phone? with the loading and performance cost it introduce?
how often does virus hits android, anyone care to share their experience?

i didn't care with Symbian, and i'm quite a bit doubt if i should even care with android..

why bother worying about quad-core, sgs3, etc.

rooting essentially means installing "superuser" and "busybox".

in my case, you just need odin to flash to insecure kernel, run superoneclick to root, flash back the latest stock kernel that matches the version of rom you have. you would eliminate the yellow triangle, and keeping the rooted condition.
all above are done with odin.

clearing cache is optional, and i reckon is a step relevant only when you use CF-Root.

from what i can see, the whole point of this thread is just so that people who are not "experienced" could ask their -sometimes- newbie questions.

most if not all AP sets are Europe based, so no it doesn't come with chinese IME.
you could download 3rd party IME such as Google or Sogou PinYin.
or, you can install Swype Beta, but this will requires rooting (for the bundled Swype system app removal using Titanium Backup), and registration at Swype to download the Swype installer and its Beta licensing, no crack needed, all legit.

in fact now is a good time, as Swype has just released 3.0 Beta version, now featuring CH/EN only version. it's great improvement over the previous v2.29 Beta, from what i tried so far.

add these expectations to the beginning of the thread if you truly believe so.

lightning 1.4 doesn't wipe your setting nor data, villain & cognition will.

done with villian, wiped my data. during my attempt to flash back to stock, stucked at boot screen, had to wipe cache to revive, not the kinda rom i would try again.
the other incident before was when i apply the VRTweak, and lost my status bar after applying tweak.
the "compatibility" aspect was never in the consideration for this rom, i'd stay away from it. (oh, and ugly splash screen too)

am now on lightning 1.4 KF1, will keep.
indeed smoother than the stock KE8 and even villain 1.2. coming from lightning 1.3 KE8, my guess is that it's due to the optimization of the custom rom itself.

seen you problem before on my set, end up freezing it, no biggie..
freezing it didn't even affect the wifi hotspot capability.

the symptom can easily be spotted through battery usage, namely under the "CPU Total", indicating the CPU (or the wifi module) was turned on during standby state.
never rely on the usage%, as that just a relative indicator, it's useless piece of info.
