for me,it simple...it fulfill my requirement esp video call right out of box.other cons simply can live with it. thumbup.gif

yesss.... 3G video call right out of the box. Finally on android. That's the purpose of having that 2MP camera in front of the phone.
I've tested it with my friends Nokia X6, Samsung Wave(BADAos) and galaxy TAb. All can receive and see the video. Cool.

morisa

I'm a little confused, cause I have the following for my phone;
PDA: I9100XXKE2
CSC: I9100OXAKE2
Phone: I9100XXKE2
So does this mean I can't flash with anything related to XWKE?
*
this is mine;
PDA: I9100XWKE2
CSC: I9100OXFKD4
PHONE: I9100XXKDJ
Build Info: Fri May 6 07:48:55 KST 2011

I have no problem at all with my phone;
a) No call drops etc
b) No data problem etc that requires soft-reset or toggling Airplane Mode ON and OFF
c) 3G Video Call works out of the box
d) Data sharing via usb cable is working
e) Data sharing via WiFi tethering also no prob and starting from June 1st to date, I've accumulated 1.385 GB of data already (1.288GB Down and 97.4MB up)
f) Network is set to WCDMA/GSM auto and whenever there is no 3G/H signal, the system switch to E/G automaticall and vice versa.
g) 4 days of usage without soft reset already unless I am installing new stuff or clearing some stuff.
h) Plenty of mp3 files in the micro sdcard.
i) GPS lock normally under 10s for cold start and less than 3s for hot start. Google Maps and also PAPAGO X5.
j) camera functions as I expected and suits my requirement.
k) I don't use the TouchWiz but replace it with GO Launcher.
l) Gtalk/Facebook/Twitter/Emails/Weather/News etc; all ON for 24hrs as I have unlimited data plan.
m) SMS and MMS works as expected. (I do set the APN manually and its for Celcom)
n) Battery, no complain as I use my phone to the fullest so I charge it everyday and also while driving.
o) Alarm clock works OK.
p) Youtube no problem.
q) Flash in web browser also no problem (Built-in browser, UCweb and Dolphin Mini; all tested and OK)
r) Market also no problem.
s) Yahoo! Messenger with video also no problem but can only use the back camera, dunno how to use the front camera yet)
t) No task killer what-so-ever installed; just let the system manage its memory by itself. SGS2 has plenty of memory, so why worry.
u) No setcpu-overclock-etc installed.

Based on the above, I stick to that configuration and forgo the idea of using custom ROM and just waiting for 2.3.4 to come if needed to.

regards,
morisa

You can flash any Rom. No worry about it. Just study the guide first how to do it. K E2 is one of the earlier roms, latest is now ke8

Which is why common sense is not so common these days tongue.gif

On topic: Is it absolutely crucial to get an external power pack? So far are there any serious auto-reboot issues with them phone?

It's really depend on the individual user, if you really feel the battery life too short and it bother you then go ahead. Anyway the battery life really not that bad especially after flashing with other rom.

About the auto reboot issues, only happen to me twice before and after flashed.

Oh , never had a auto-reboot b4 , touch wood but got 1 FC so far ..... Battery pack , as mentioned , is depending on users . I still get 30% after a whole day use but i do charge it while in the car
