OK so I flash chainfire KE2 first to clear the cache then flash back KE2 original kernel
then flash KE7 insecure tar and then to flash original KE7 tar right
*
rooting essentially means installing "superuser" and "busybox".

in my case, you just need odin to flash to insecure kernel, run superoneclick to root, flash back the latest stock kernel that matches the version of rom you have. you would eliminate the yellow triangle, and keeping the rooted condition.
all above are done with odin.

clearing cache is optional, and i reckon is a step relevant only when you use CF-Root.

His phone already rooted so he need not flash insecure kernel. Do read his earlier questions before confusing him

It is a highly recommended step to clear cache partition and even dalvik cache before flashing new roms. It is analogous to putting on your seatbelts before driving off
I always do it for all my Android flashing
This rom ke7 he wants to flash the developer highlighted must be done

I said boot into recovery not launch cwm app
boot by pressing volup-centre-power button simultaneously. If you read angelom thread he even tell you how to do it
and i say use odin to flssh not using cwm

No offence bro but if u DID read the instructions , u will notice that it says flash with ODIN and even Benny told u so . U cant expect to be asking over and over again something which is written so clearly under instructions as how XDA forumers called it " spoon fed " . Having CWM is a good thing as it makes rom updates and themes easier but that doesn't mean every .zip file u dled is for u to flash using CWM

You must first download the following kernel of Chainfire and install it using ODIN (download version KE7):
xda-developers - View Single Post - [30.05.2011] [CFK @ - root v3.5] KE2 / 7 - at + bb + CWM3

Without this restart the rom and check if everything is ok.
If everything is ok then continue installing the rom as the next step.
(Procedure for Roma => 1.3)

If you already installed a version => 1.3 ROM:
XWKE716.zip Unzip the downloaded file (the file contains XWKE716.tar)

To run the wipe of the cache:

Turn off the cell.
Power on while holding Vol + + HOME + Power
Select Wipe Cache
Press Home
Turn off the cell.

How to flash :

Connect the cell to pc mode Download (Vol-+ Home + Power and then press Continue)
Launch Odin (in administrator mode)

SG is just fast releasing new phones. Just love that.

By the way, Melkco leather cases is not here yet. Any other reliable or branded leather case with ready stock? I would prefer something like Melkco Jacka type

those interested in asia region rom, there's ZSKE7 released. it's for east asia region like hk/taiwan/china so very likely will contain chinese input/swype.

Newer kernel from ZSKE7: http://www.multiupload.com/0MITBG285W

According to reliable source, the launching of SGS2 delay again to July.
Really fed-up with SME. The way they handle the SGS2.
They are really secretive about the availability of SGS2.
At least they should let their potential buyer know when is the launched date.
Rather than keep on waiting and guessing when it will launch.

looks like the 'confirmed in august' statement by the samsung kiosk in 1u might be true after all. i won't be surprised if...

22 june = maxis exclusive
6th july = maxis + digi exclusive
20th july = all normal channels

dates are just plucked out of the sky... but give abt 2 weeks for the telco launches. it should work out to end july. i might just go with sgs1 then. my phone's dying and can't wait that long. as it is... my phone is already on life support (always charging). can't even last 10mins of talktime if not being plugged in. looks like i have to go to the recommend me thread to ask for another model to look at... lg optimus 2x?
