never visit to Window or china park. no comment
Doraemon park at taoyuan looks okay. But depend on certain people.
u can always ask for friendly tour guide center everywhere at taiwan for direction

p/s: make sure u can speak mandarin

*
it slightly go higher for the hotel.
And not really. Taiwan shops don't close all day
for some street, they are very crowded too!

anyone tried the 'stinky tofu' from taiwan before? i heard ppl said that the smell is horrible but the taste veri nice..feels like trying it, but then my parents told me it's dirty  sweat.gif
*
It depends.
If you cant accept local version of stinky toufu at all, you can't accept Taiwan version
The smell of taiwan version get more mixture compare to local one. I called local "the lauya version stinky toufu"

But atlast, Hongkong one still the best.
the most "busuk" yet most delicious

Deduct hotels and transport, basic necessities should not be more than TWD 5k.
I tried 10 days/9 nights in Taipei, spent less than TWD 3k on eating.
*
You very save $ in taipei.
i always spend more than 60K of TWD there...

Erm... I think Taiwan 'chou tou fu' will be acceptable to most people la... Their version is not smelly at all, just the funny taste of the sauce...

The one our tour guide recommend in Tai Chung's Feng Jia Night Market at a stall name 'yi xin' aka one heart has no smell at all. Just funny taste... the queue is quite long.

My mom tried one stall in Shih Lin Night Market and also not smelly according to her.

Yup, their public transport is very very reliable.

I took bus from Taipei - Jingguashi - Jiufen - Keelung - Taipei. Their bus drivers very attentive to tourists one. Let him know u wan to stop at which station (or go where), then he will inform you when it's time to go down the bus. Other places all i use Taipei City Train.

In Taichung, I use their HSR shuttle bus. Very punctual!

In Kaoshiung, i also use Kaoshiung City Train. Most places of attraction in Kaoshiung can be reach by MRT + foot. Some still need buses also la. My fond memory of Kaoshiung bus driver is superb. The driver went down from the bus and explain us the route to lotus lake/tiger dragon temple. We were pretty touch with the driver hospitality. He takes the time to come down from the bus with a map and explain properly to us. As I am quite limited with my chinese, surprisingly the bus driver can speak simple English! thumbup.gif

I really thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Taiwan's public transport & their drivers hospitality!

Exactly! All I can say is why Malaysian have so little patience n heart? We should learn from Taiwanese to be more courteous and socialable! It really touches your heart!

Yea, when we were onboard on the bus to Jingguashi, there were a group of Japanese senior tourists. They were quite blank but surprisingly, a Taiwanese old lady approached them in a very fluent Japanese and guided them away. I was pretty overwhelmed a bit from my seat. Taiwanese are so so warm in their heart.

I read that we will be charged 10% commission if we exchange old US$ notes at Taoyuan Intl Airport. To familiarize with the look of new US$ notes, please refer to Wikipedia:

I'm back from Taiwan!!! It was super freaking hot (33degC), and rained during the last 2 days of my stay grumble.gif the last day totally couldn't go outdoor so we spent whole day at Taipei station underground....super potong stim...

generally i din enjoy taiwan food (mostly those recommended ones we din like doh.gif ) too starchy and oily.....I loved jiufen the best! spent 1 day 1 night there also not enough. it was raining though. that place gets lots of rain per year (like 180days per year according to the guide).

public transport is super convenient there especially the MRT and busses. some of the bus stops has LCD showing when is the next bus reaching. and the ppl there will line up properly including going up the escalator, toilet, bus, train....public toilets are very clean and dry, with tissue provided. taiwanese are very friendly and helpful...they will come to u if they see you trying to figure out maps, and asked if they can help...some even took the trouble to show you how to go by taking you there...

Sky-85
85水格印象
85海角天气晴
Color 85 Inn

The view is just stunning... drool.gif

Yeah, if you tried Taiwanese food in local restaurant here, you will find that their own version is so-so only.
Apparently, I was told by my friend who has a very friendly tour guide who bring them to a lower class Night Market in Taipei (not Xi Men Ding nor Shih Lin) which she never read about. She said the food is good... I wonder if anyone have any idea where this is.

just remind you guys something.

Remember to exchange your Taiwan Dollar, locally. Don't go there and exchange. You'll cry.gif

but if you got excessive TWD left when u coming back, can sell to the money exchange at TYAP, you can get better rate
