Hubby rented one at hualien without intl license. Some shops are strict, must show them intl license. But there are many scooter shops around. U can nego with them one.

Yup I agree. Shilin is over rated. Of course since its so popular u have to go & see it.
I prefer Ning Xia, Raohe, Fengjia & the one at Danshui old street. So many stuff to see, buy & eat at the Danshui night market. Cheap too!

i have already booked my hualien tra ticket online. secured seat first as this tra is very hotselling. manage to book the tra-taroko express which is 1hr faster than the others

can someone tell me what seat number is better? my seat number is even number. any idea it is facing left right front back?

If going on 30th, is it have to start book on 17th? 2 weeks advance ?

im going to hualien on 23/4. original nt$440. book online got 5% disc. i am not sure hows the bank charges for forex. but i book online to avoid no tickets on that day.
yes. according to website its 2 weeks in advance u can book the tickets base on the departure date. once u see the date available u can straight book already.

yes. im taking the taroko express (tze chiang) tra from taipei main station.

i arrive taoyuan airport on 22/4. i might be taking bus or take hsr to reach taipei main station. to take hsr u need take u-bus shuttle service to reach taoyuan hsr station first.

Icic. I'm going on30th. Actually I already saw the ticket on 30th but is via mountain line. I wonder if later there has more train via the 'normal line'?

Okok, I also thinking taking hsr..wanna try the bullet train...otherwise no chance to try on this trip.

How long you need to wait for the Taroko train?

Coz for me I'll be arrive around 3pm. But the Taroko train is at 4.40 or 5.40pm.
Should I just take 5.40pm? But then need to wait about 2 hours liow.

i reach airport morning 22/4. then i go taipei. stay at ximending. then venture to taipei/ximending area

i go hualien 23/4. afternoon. morning i go yehliu. reach hualien evening. stay at chisingtang beach. then go night market

i already buy the ticket hsr online , so how to claim the collection ticket?
just print out the slip and claim at the counter in tai chung?

i have not buy the hsr tickets. hehehe. coz i worried i might miss the time. so i book tra first which is my priority to hualien.
