Hi all, I am new to Marimo, just purchase 2 Marimo from leeyung. Want to ask, why never see my Marimo float to the top of the water. They keep sinking and laying at the bottom of my bottle. They float only the 1st time I put them into water, then one day after that, they sink, and never float to top of water anymore.

try squeezing it when u clean them n change the water.
they might float as some oxygen stuck inside the them? haha

for normal photosynthesis, it will be very hard for them to float.
limited light source + remember no sunlights.

i guess it depend on the amount of water also.
if the water level is too high, they might just float half way

i plan to rear lower grade shrimps 1st, after i cycled my tank.

I think for shrimps I will only get the glass shrimps.. The hardiest shrimp ever.. Lol.. rclxms.gif

what do you mean without oxygen?no filter izzit?Strongly not recommend because shrimps are very sensitive through the water condition wink.gif

Finally managed to take the pics blush.gif

Proud owner of 2 Giant Marimos

At 1st I got it a medium bowl, seems like that bowl isn't fit to the Marimo, so I decided to buy a jar to place another.
I don't know, but putting it in the different jar/bowl gives me certain 'auras' in it. tongue.gif

Before my bf take picture of it, I wash & squeeze them & plop it back into the jar & bowl brows.gif

Maybe you should put it into the taller jar/bowl, because mine, the one in the jar is still floating till now & while the one in the bowl sinks.
